Oil prices rise and bonds wobble as Iran war stokes inflation fears

Oil prices rose and global bonds wobbled on Monday, as fresh tensions in the Middle East fed inflation fears and bets that central banks will have to increase interest rates.

Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil, rose on Monday, after an attack on a nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates.

It came as peace talks between the US and Iran stalled in the sixth week of ceasefire. Donald Trump wrote on social media: “For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”.

Brent crude rose by as much as 1.77% to $111.16 a barrel, its highest level in nearly two weeks, early on Monday. However, it eased back to $110 a barrel after Iran said it had responded to a new US proposal aimed at ending the war.

BS wars are rumbling on (Ukraine and Iran). I'm no fan of them at all.

Before Iran action crude was trading at $73 a barrel.

Vaporize Tehran. Get it over with. Islam knows only one thing. Conquest.

Conquer Islam or be conquered by it.

The Manchester Guardian reports only bad news when conservatives are in power and only good news when leftist fascists are in power ... period ... that is, assuming any “news” they report is not just fabricated in the first place ...

That wont happen.

Trump has nothing to do with Ukraine but for Iran he could stop it/do a deal, etc. It’s a choice he has to make I’m afraid or become further entrenched.

...Islam knows only one thing. Conquest.

There is one very important change in the World. The Internet.

The ultimate weakness with Islam is that it cannot handle the truth.

Without Lies , Islam Dies

Thanks to the Internet Mozlems all over the World are exposed to views that are normally censored. I believe this rejection of Islam in Iran is because of the Internet exposing people to the truth.

What is happening to Iran is historic. Never before has an Islamic country had a revolt against Islam itself. The only time Islam has lost territory has been when outside forces have been victorious.  This could be the war that eventually burns down the whole merciless Islamic Colonization Mafia. Are we witnessing the beginning of the end of this cancerous 14 century long plague of ruthless evil ?

I trust Trump. God didn't let him get assassinated for a reason. That gives him Divine credibility in the Islamic world. I predict the revolt against Islam wins in Iran and that revolution fever spreads to other countries infected with that evil mind virus.

Until the mullah regime is destroyed and replaced by decent, rational people, this nonsense will continue. If it does the demonic Democrats will ride the political backlash to power in 26 and 28. Trump has less than 2 months to set things right and it will require hard ground fighting. Most conservatives were rightly aghast when he started this war. However now that he has, he must finish it or he is finished. Too bad American leaders don’t listen to George Washington’s great fatherly advice to avoid foreign entanglements. One of Washington’s greatest accomplishments was keeping the young american nation from becoming involved in the European wars spawned by the French revolution.

How do you feel about Mecca and Saudi Arabia and UAE? You know... the ones behind all of the terror including 9/11, ISIS, and almost every attack in the last 30 years?

Wanna nuke Riyadh and Dubai also?

Trump is a fool and getting played by the Israeli lobby. First they wanted DeSantis, then Haley. Trump was their third choice and they went all on on him and bought him.

He thinks they like him, but they are more than happy to use him for their own Israeli ends and goals, then throw him away.
AIPAC has no problem with Dems winning in 26 midterms and in 28. They can easily coopt them with the same billionaire money.

He’s being used doesn’t even see it.

Iran must be wiped off the map. By any means. At this point, whatever it takes to get oil prices down. If this continues much longer, we’re cooked at midterms and our country will be handed back over to the libtards.

Too bad American leaders don’t listen to George Washington’s great fatherly advice to avoid foreign entanglements.

This is the same George Washington who pushed for Congress (which he signed into law) the 1794 Navy Act. It was to recreate the US Navy (after the Revolution we had no navy) for the explicit purpose of dealing with Muslims who attacked our ships. As Iran has done. And as Iran had been doing before Trump "started" the Iran War.

Look up all the navy and cargo ships that Iran attacked either directly in the Hormuz Strait, like the taking of US sailors in the Obama years, or the many cargo ships that had the stock market and oil market on edge; and look up the more recent Houthi, Iranian proxy, attacks on ships in the Red Sea, which means ships entering/exiting the Suez Canal.

In other words, Trump didn't start it. He's ending it. Much like Washington put in place the ability for Jefferson and Madison to handle the Barbary Pirate nations (1st and 2nd Barbary Wars). And that's without even getting into Iran building nukes and maybe putting them into the status that Pakistan is in where they can attack by proxy (i.e. Sep 11 attacks in which we all knew that Pakistan helped Al Qaeda as much as Afghanistan did, but we went to war against only Afghanistan).

In other words, the Iran War shouldn't be categorized as us trying to entangle ourselves in foreign affairs. Iran repeatedly attacked us and only recently have we started attacking back.

Who cares what you are a fan of when it comes to our president, you are a foreigner who doesn’t even live here and you have nothing to do with us.

It is more than patience being tested. Many sources of news have one overwhelming narrative: Trump must never be allowed to win. They paint the war as a loss no matter how badly beaten the enemy has become. One has to realize this smokescreen of lies and anti-Trump propaganda for what it is and learn how to get to the truth of what is actually happening.

Pretty girls lighting cigarettes from burning photos of the now dead Ayatollah do not start revolutions. Better information from the Internet does not start revolutions. Armed citizens, if motivated and assisted by foreign intelligence agencies, can start revolutions. Better yet, a dissident faction of the country's armed forces can start a revolution.

Iran seems impervious to the shock and awe aerial tactics of the United States and Israel. We must cut off Iranian supply lined across the Caspian Sea and Central Asia, deriving from Russian and Chinese sources. There must be a direct Navy assault on the Straits of Hormuz, accompanied by Naval and Air Force strikes, and a land invasion of the Iranian coast. We don't have sufficient ground troops, even combined with the IDF, to take on the Iranians, who are fighting on their own soil. Europe is sitting this war out. We must have the active assistance of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Pakistan, with the Turks invading from the west, the Pakistanis from the east, and the Americans, Saudis, Israelis, and UAE forces landing on the north shore of the Persian Gulf. A three front war is needed, and the Turks and Pakistanis must get a share of the benefits, such as annexed territories. If we can't get the neighboring Muslim states to help, this makes the defeat of Iran more difficult.

All these are tough measures, and we will lose thousands of soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airman, not to mention IDF, Saudi, and other casualties. If we can't or won't do what is needed, then we have to rely on long term economic measures, which may work or not.

Iran is running out of space for their oil and their neighbors are too. They have got to be getting heat from everywhere.

Revolution is a tricky game. Too much obvious interference and the population will march against you. Too little and they get crushed and murdered . Finding that sweet spot where you give them just enough help to succeed is what Trump is trying to do here. I would not trust that task to anyone less intelligent or capable than he is. Will he succeed? Time will tell.

You’re right. Napoleon said “History turns on the point of a bayonet.” Leaflets alone usually won’t do the trick.

The 1989 Romanian revolution is a good example of that. Ceaușescu fell from power only after the army turned against him.

In the case of Iran, they can’t be American bayonets. The American public won’t stand for it, especially if it’s not a quick operation.

There’s no Pearl Harbor to rally the public here.
