The comments are brutal and justified. Damn, she can only buy vegetables. What’s a mother to do? Ungrateful succubus.
She can take the money she spends on makeup and buy soda with it. This is how food stamps used to work.
It’s a white woman. And full makeup.
Look, not what I thought either.

Remember, back in the 80s-90s, when politicians were throwing the line around “safety net, not a hammock”? They didn’t actually do anything then, but it sounded nice.

Why wasn't candy and sugary drinks banned before?
I remember years ago at Walmart, before the neighborhood grocery store walmarts, watching some latinos with a heavily grocery cart buying their food with food stamps. The husband pulls out his wallet, unfolds a thick, stack of cash, peels off a $20 bill and pays for his beer. I was stunned. Why did they need food stamps if they had all that cash? They would have considered me a fool for not taking advantage of the govt largesse, I’m sure.
Amazing what the purpose of EBT is for is lost on these people.
It is charity - to provide food, nourishment, and nutrition to those in need. Junk food is not a necessity - any of these benefits spent on junk food was money wasted that should go to meals.
She can buy all of the ingredients to make cakes and cookies. She can buy fresh meat. She can buy fresh fruit.
Because food stamps was always about making money for grocery stores and food producers especially snack foods, sodas… shocked they never added alcohol guess that was just a bridge to far
When my wife was a community nurse for the state the folks would have all the electronics and fast food bags and snacks everywhere in the house
Nothing’s been abused more than the American welfare system and that seems to be the way they want it.
Growing up in an upper middle class hood in NYC suburbia in the 70s no one had snacks. We armed at meal time and the kitchen was closed after dinner. No one was fat, even the parents. We were allowed 3 cookies and out. ‘Out of this house’
We managed school, homework, after school outside activities.
The sympathy I have for these people is zero
She should be content with government cheese and spam.
