President Trump expressed optimism Wednesday that the Iran war cease-fire agreement will usher in a “Golden Age” in the Middle East.
“A big day for World Peace!” Trump wrote on Truth Social following the two-week cease-fire announcement. “Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!”
The commander in chief said the US “will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz” and “loading up with supplies of all kinds, just ‘hangin’ around’ in order to make sure that everything goes well.”
Trump indicated he felt “confident” the reopening of the key waterway, through which 20% of the world’s oil passes daily, would go well.
“There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process,” he said. “Just like we are experiencing in the US, this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!!!”
Trump branded Operation Epic Fury a “total and complete victory” — more than a month after the first US strikes in a joint operation alongside Israeli forces on Feb. 28.
“100 percent,” he told Agence France Presse. “No question about it.”
Trump didn’t rule out strikes on power plants if the ceasefire collapsed.
“You’re going to have to see,” he said when probed.

Maybe if that deal is signed with the Prince and whomever is President of the Republic of Iran, but I doubt it with the IRGC.
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory just as the B-52s were approaching their targets.
They then had to turn around and fly all the way back to the UK still fully loaded with ordnance.

Reading some of the FR commentary on this stupid war over the last 5-6 weeks has been like overhearing a conversation baking people who bet on WWE events.
I’m expecting Iran to screw this up real soon.
But if this works out, the price of gas should really plummet, and that helps us in the mid-terms.

Trump is maestro. He raised the military action and rhetoric to a crescendo by saving the airmen and threatening to end civilization then at the peak waves his wand into a decrescendo by agreeing to the cease fire. Trump is a genius.
There wasn’t anything left to bomb ya mean.
The only thing the Iranian leadership had left was bluster - and that was going to end soon, too. They’re not trustworthy, but we’ll see what happens. Trump handled this right.

I was ready to "high-five" him after seeing video of those those B-52s taking off in the UK and heading for Iran to finish it off, only to learn this morning that Trump recalled them and the other strategic strike packages and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by allowing the IRCG to turn the Persian Gulf into a toll road.
And then in his Truth Social post crowing about his own blinking, he says that "There's big money to be made."
How is THAT winning? What happened to saving the Iranian civilians after telling them "not yet" and to "stay in doors," and demanding "unconditional surrender" from the IRGC?

Prolly Iranians crowds at power plants and bridges rattled Team Trump.
Plus that it would take us 2x-3x months to eliminate all missile and fast boats hidden in Iran’s shoreline. While crude prices creep upward. Same for gasoline n diesel in USA
And that even being eliminated, the IRGC might have a few missile left to kill off Hormuz shipping with one successful strike on an oil or LNG transporter.
With this craptastic 2x week cease fire, the Iranians will be begging CCP for their very capable Silkworm missiles.
Sounds good for the people benefiting from the “big money” to be made.
I think you are right. If we have so destroyed their military…. Then why are we negotiating a cease fire? We have been lied to. It is clear Trump just wants out of this thing. Why negotiate a deal? There is no deal to be made with Iran. Everyone with a brain knew that going into this thing.

Seriously??? Reconstruction process on what? Any “big money” that the IRGC gets is going into their own pockets. They’ll reconstruct their arsenals and tunnels.
It’s not going to make life better for the people.

I agree, but there is no hope that people who are demonically possessed can be bargained with. They have to be constantly watched over like a recalcitrant adversary because if you turn your back on them they will cheat, lie, steal, blackmail, and try to kill you, which is their overriding Allah mandated objective.
