An ex-security staffer for President Joe Biden who posed for pics with former VP Kamala Harris in front of a presidential jet was arrested for a chilling murder in San Francisco.
Nation Wood, 25, was arrested Wednesday, just 24 hours after he allegedly shot and killed Samantha Emge, 22, a 2025 graduate of San Francisco State University, at a home in San Francisco’s Sunset District.
Wood identified himself as a part-time security staffer for Biden’s White House Secret Service team starting in November 2023 on his LinkedIn profile.
He worked at the White House through July 2025, finishing out his term under President Donald Trump, according to his LinkedIn page that lists him as an “independent pre-event site security advisor.”
Wood said on LinkedIn that he worked as advance security, providing “external advisory site security assessments for events with VIP attendance.”
“Experience includes site walkthroughs and advance coordination alongside U.S. Secret Service for senior government and high-net-worth principals,” his LinkedIn states.
Wood shot and killed Emge at a residence near San Francisco’s Ocean Beach on Tuesday, according to cops.
Officers arrived at the home at 10:43 p.m. and discovered Wood’s alleged victim suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police. Emge was taken to a hospital where she died.
Homicide investigators on the case collected evidence against Wood and took him into custody for involuntary manslaughter. He was booked at San Francisco County Jail where he remained Friday.
Wood was a political science and government major at SFSU, graduating in May 2024, according to his LinkedIn account.
