President Donald Trump made a surprise stop at Graceland Monday during his visit to Memphis, taking a private tour of Elvis Presley’s legendary home.
During a roundtable earlier in the day, the president hinted at the detour, telling the audience, “I’m going to Graceland after this. I love Elvis.”
Minutes after the event wrapped up, the president arrived at the Whitehaven landmark — the second most visited home in America, behind the White House.
The president spent roughly 30 minutes inside the mansion. During his visit, access to the property was closed to the public, and portions of Elvis Presley Boulevard were temporarily blocked off.
Inside, the president viewed well-known exhibits and personal items from the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, including Elvis’s final Grammy Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom that Trump posthumously awarded him in 2018.
Trump told the White House press pool that although he never met Elvis, it’s something he has always regretted.
A longtime Elvis fan
“I’ve never been here, no. I’m a big fan of Elvis. Who isn’t, right?” the president said. “I think his music is incredible. I understood his life — his life was complicated, right? It was complicated. But he was terrific.”
While discussing Elvis’s place in American culture, the president said the music icon continues to inspire generations.
During the tour, President Trump visited the famous Jungle Room, where he signed a guitar—adding a new presidential touch to Graceland’s collection.

There’s a NoKings joke in that story somewhere.
Good thing he has good security
Sweet.
Was never a fan of Elvis, but I enjoyed visiting Graceland. Would recommend.
I notice it didn’t burst into flames. 🤔😂👍🎸
I’m glad he could find time to schedule something benign and pleasant. An upbeat distraction from worldly matters.
Just make sure your security is in place and ready to act

I’m on about my 10th cup of coffee this morning and just read the headline as: “President Trump visits Greenland during trip to Memphis” and thought to myself - “Hell of a side trip there Mr. President, looking for the best place for a new golf course?” Then my jittery eyes caught up with my even jittery brain.
Elvis and Sinatra were around when I was young, played Dallas - Elvis 1975 and Sinatra 1987. Had a chance to see both and thought, $15 for those old guys? One of my few regrets.
About a mile or two before we got there, I turned off the Interstate. As we drove through the neighborhood, my wife asked me if I had taken a wrong turn, as we found ourselves "in the ghetto". She said, certainly a rich and famous person like Elvis would not live in a neighborhood like this! I said, "You really don't know much about Elvis, do you!"
That's one I have never heard. My favorite is Mystery Train.
I heard that song on a very special X-Files episode. Great song.
“as we found ourselves “in the ghetto”
Y’all haven’t lived until you’ve been to Whitehaven, TN. LOL!
