As I was typing in a contribution to Free Republic and ready to hit the Enter Key, it all disappeared. Yep all that I had typed had simply disappeared. No warning message, nothing. Has it happened to anyone else? Then it hit me,

Something like that happened to me the other day. I accidentally hit some key, or a key combination, that wiped the “post” page out, or deleted everything I’d typed, I don’t remember exactly. I just re-typed it and posted normally.
Could be a recent release of Windows added some “hotkey” combination that wasn’t there before, or maybe it was just a fluke.
I kept wondering why that ball got bigger and bigger as it came near me.
Then it hit me.
Are you typing with a Windows keyboard? Windows has all sorts of weird multi-key “shortcuts”.
You might have accidentally hit a combination that erased the message field.
Just a guess, based on how Windows has tormented me for 30 years.
Turn off your laptop’s touchpad.

So funny (and true) I had to repeat it.
It was obviously a virul attack.
Used disappearing ink, didn’t you?
Just do a control “Z” and it will all come back reversing whatever you did to make it go away.
Love those kinds of shots as the deformations are amazing to watch.
It sometimes happens to me on my iPad.
If I open another window to check something before I’m finished writing, I have to hit preview to save what I’m doing or it might be gone when I go back to finish writing my post.
