Yeah, another bombshell.
This is a subtle yet significant deal, completely under the radar screen and not reported anywhere, to my knowledge. This is a very slick move, IMO.
1: Israel recognizes Somaliland statehood
2: Who even knew that there was an entity separate from Somalia "Somaliland"?
3: Israel recognizes S-Land well before the UN recognizes it as a state. Very pre-emptive.
4: Israel and S-Land sign cooperation and development deal(s)
5: Possibly this creates a platform where states in that region find out that peaceful cooperation w/Israel can be highly advanatageous. Yeah, sure?
6: While there is certain to be pushback on the part of Turkey, Turkey is emerging as a new hegemon in this region rather intent upon re-establishing what it can of the Ottoman empire. Trukey's anticpated pushbak will be an excellent indicator of Turkey's intentions.

Sounds like the right place to send Israel’s neighbors to the West.
Agreed, Somaliland would be far far better place for them than Israel.
But frankly I still believe that President Trump’s plan for an Indonesian island is the very best proposal anyone’s come up with, even including Somaliland
An island can be easily, economically, and effectively patrolled to assure that the Fakestinian savages never, ever again are able to attack any civilized human beings anywhere on earth.
Somaliland is close to some strategic western assets and geographically sensitive
just saying, if someone sets up an airlift to Somaliland I will happily support it but that Indonesian island still looks much better, imho

Somaliland has been de facto independent for decades. Somaliland is a relatively peaceful and normal country, but the “international community” keeps trying to bring them under the control of the gangsters in Mogadishu. But they are not having it.
This is similar to Iraqi Kurdistan and Taiwan.
