I'm a Luddite, I actually go to the grocery store and look for the price listed, and always get a paper receipt.

I'm 82. I shop on line at Walmart. And they deliver.

But I go to Aldi for meats.

When a product is “free,” then YOU are the product.

This is all neocon/leftist collaborative spyware. Your calorie, dietary, and ethno-centric (or not) data will be ingested into a DOGE-like machine learning model owned by Planatir.

The resulting Gastronomy Score will be integrated into your Good Citizen Score so Klaus Schwab, the UN, and Mamdami’s handlers can decide if your organs are worth harvesting prior to you becoming Soylent Green.

From not being able to find a perfectly ripe avocado to juggling your list, keys and coffee while simultaneously pushing a cart, it can be a tough task to tackle.

Unless you are going to eat it that night you want slightly unripe avocados, your keys go in your pocket, why are you drinking a coffee while shopping (very unsanitary) and your list should be on a clip board propped up in your cart for ease of use. Have a pen tied to it to mark off what you have gotten.

How is it that people now seem to be incapable of doing basic tasks?

How more pathetic can it become when teaching your kids how to shop at a grocery store is an APP ! I personally wouldn’t trust anyone to shop for my food. When these cell phones first came out I was all in for its communication ability 24/7 no matter where I was. (Was a Contractor in Massachusetts) I could be on a roof in Truro and get contacted...what they have morphed into is an abomination and simple minded people are within its electronic clutches. if they had to do anything manually they would be lost.

People aren't, but these apps need customers.

And I hand write a shopping list to take with me after reading the ad myself.

Hahaha! I asked our ultra-techie daughter and SIL (30-somethings) what they use and the response was “We like to do our own shopping. The only app we use is Fry’s for the coupons.”
Here in Foodie-land I shop at least 3 times a week, at multiple stores for freshest ingredients, especially the latest fish catch. It’s the best —-and perhaps only—-perk of living in “the land of the fruit and nuts”! No apps. I have taken to snapping a photo of my paper grocery list posted on my fridge and written in ink and using it as my shopping list. Still can’t get used to the “notes” section of my iPhone.

At the grocery stores I shop most frequently, I go to each department leader. I always acknowledge them and their efforts. In return, they save special deals, tips, and pricing.

Respect and common courtesy go a long way.

My wife hates to grocery shop and I do most of the cooking so I also do the weekly grocery shopping. I make it a point to study the ads and clip digital coupons online that go on my stores loyalty perks card. My grocery list is compiled with my Alexa device. It is easy to add things I might be running out of by a simple voice command to the device in my kitchen. My list is automatically sent to my phone. Studying the ads for weekly specials and clipping digital coupons saves a lot of money. My favorite grocery also often has three day specials so I plan my shopping accordingly. I believe it is important to have certain staples always on hand , like onions, flour, sugar as well as an array of spices and herbs and plan menus in advance.

I use an app called Wife.

Too many ads for stuff I don’t want or need. And the ads go on and on and force you to listen to the whole thing before you can close them. I suppose you can pay to go “ad free”, but I’m too cheap for that.

My husband has the same app! Only I give it a longer name, the Chief Procurement Officer app. ;)

Most of the time, I enjoy grocery shopping. There are times when it’s not at a convenient time for me, but most of the time, I’m not rushed. Grocery shopping is the only kind of shopping I do like.

Also, I’m pretty picky when it comes to my produce and meats. No way am I turning that over to someone who doesn’t know a shallot from a scallion. Meats? There are quality differences with each package. When I want something specific, I sometimes go to the real butcher, not just the one at the grocery store.

I use the Notes app for my grocery list. It works well enough for me. I share it with my husband, so he can add things like his deodorant when he runs out.

You need a different shopping app, it’s not The Nagging Wife app.
