If you are strongly opposed to the NFL choosing Bad Bunny to perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show, you are not alone. However, if you approve of Bad Bunny or don’t care, you’re also not alone.
That seems to be the main takeaway from a recent Quinnipiac poll, which shows that 48 percent of respondents approve of the selection of the Puerto Rican rapper for this year’s halftime entertainment. In comparison, 29 percent disapprove and 24 percent have no opinion.
The numbers break down along party lines.
“Democrats (74 – 10 percent) and independents (52 – 22 percent) approve of the NFL’s decision to have Bad Bunny perform the Super Bowl halftime show, while Republicans (63 – 16 percent) disapprove, reflecting recent criticism of the pick by the Trump administration,” the poll reports.
Large majorities of blacks and Hispanics favor the idea of Bad Bunny performing at the halftime show. However, when it comes to whites, the margins were much narrower.
“A larger share of Black adults (61 – 19 percent) and Hispanic adults (65 – 20 percent) approve of the decision than white adults (41 – 34 percent),” Quinnipiac reports.
The fault lines in the poll also centered on age, with young people approving of the NFL’s decision by a crushing majority.

As they advertised a couple years ago, football is gay.
“Why would anyone waste time and money watching an entity that hates you?”
Exactly !
When you watch Ape-ball you are watching a Regime Circus.
And paying for the privilege !
The Super Bowl is the beneficiary of a feedback loop. First the NFL is the most popular sport in America, with the only thing coming close being college football (most years football and football related programs make up around 97 of the 100 highest rated shows in the country). This makes it very popular with advertisers.
Next because the NFL is our only major pro league that doesn’t have playoff series we always know ahead of time the exact date a champion will be crowned. This is also very popular with advertisers since they can buy 1 add in 1 game to get that audience.
Because of that certainty of scheduling anybody that might share an audience with the NFL tries not to schedule against the Super Bowl. Once again something advertisers love.
So then it becomes basically the red carpet of commercials. With new ad campaigns started there, some commercials only ever shown during the Super Bowl.
Which just adds more “event cred” to the game. The Super Bowl isn’t just the biggest game of the NFL season, or even just the biggest sporting event of the year. It is the biggest television event of the year.
So ratings go up and up. Making it more desirable for advertisers. Making it a bigger event. With more viewers...

young people approving of the NFL’s decision by a crushing majority.
Young and dumb believe incompetence is an asset.

Yeah, same here. But with all the controversy over BB I want to see what it’s all about. Last year we shut it off during half time.
They proudly let their women wear another man’s name on their back. Simpville!
Roger Goodell’s NFL is drowning in DEI, just like the NBA and Noosecar.
Worse, they wear another man's name on their back.
Dumb Bunny.
I wish the outrage were stronger and louder. But I don’t expect superior discernment from rabid football addicts.
Yeah, well, entertaining.
🤣
“young people approving of the NFL’s decision by a crushing majority.”
Advertisers want to target young people and they they think the Bad Bunny will attract that demographic.
In other words, if you are over 52, advertisers know they cannot alter you purchasing habits.
Half time is for food prep, bathroom breaks, etc. I have watched almost every super bowl for the past 30+ years and can’t recall watching a whole half time show. Usually I might catch the last few minutes at most.
There were several in a row that were all pretty good. THey were all the classic rock n roll. Prince, The Who, Tom Petty ,Springsteen, Rolling Stones, U2.
The commercials are getting lame and bland.
Isn’t that how it is for most football fans? I can’t even remember a halftime show in more than thirty years of watching the Super Bowl. The last one I was interested in was The Who, and they sounded so bad, I had to get up and find something to eat.
