When Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, announced that ChatGPT would begin allowing “erotica for verified adults” starting December 2025, the world crossed a moral line that should never have been approached. His defense — “We are not the elected moral police of the world” — was meant to sound neutral and enlightened. But in reality, it was the digital equivalent of Pontius Pilate washing his hands.
This plan is being sold as a matter of “adult freedom,” but make no mistake: this is about normalizing sin, monetizing lust, and expanding the reach of evil under the guise of technology. What began as a tool for knowledge and creativity now risks becoming a factory for temptation — and the spiritual consequences could be catastrophic.
Let’s look at five ways this new direction will be deeply harmful to both society and the soul — and why Christians must see this as a moral emergency.
1. The corruption of intimacy and the slow death of love Artificial intelligence has already blurred the lines between reality and illusion. But AI-generated erotica will go further — offering people simulated lovers, “custom” fantasies, and seductive conversations designed to satisfy fleshly cravings rather than heal the heart.
This is not freedom. It is digital slavery dressed up as personal liberty.

There is a criminal threat as well. Deranged men already lust after women they can’t have, and sometimes end up raping and/or killing them. Now they CAN “have” them, in digital form to use as porn! Which will only intensify the lust and obsession with those women.
I agree it’s creepy and weird, but I see zero difference between this and the 1-900 lines in the 1980s.
I’ve been thinking lately about the English Regency period. A frivolous time when the upper class chased pleasure and didn’t really care about social and economic struggles of others. Morality counted for little. The Regency was followed by the Victorian Age which was not quite as prudish as some people assume, but was still much more focused on morality and solid traditional middle class values for society.
If we can find a way to transition into our own sort of Victorian Age, we will be better off.
There’s been a couple of hundred picture making AI apps out there already that can make dirty pics if you want. And even some that make dirty videos. ChatGPT adding it to the feature list isn’t much of a change to the situation.
I would prefer that paedophiles stay in their basements looking at fake AI child porn instead of molesting and raping child victims to create the real thing. Obviously, it will never satisfy the rapist paedophiles, but it should reduce the market for creating, buying and trading child porn.
OTOH, I cannot understand how anyone makes money selling porn these days. There isn’t enough free porn available on the interweb to satisfy any pervert? You have to use filters on Google or Bing searches to avoid getting nothing but free porn.
“Monetizing lust” - as if that’s never happened before.
If people play out their fantasies virtually and that reduces the demand for porn made by real humans, it would be a goood thing.
In his interview with Tucker, Sam Altman came across as an autistic sociopath. Morality seemed like the least of his concerns.
The problem is that people are not static in their vices. For one already addicted to paedophilia, porn will only increase the desire, not satisfy it. For those not yet addicted, access can create that addiction. Porn is not harmless.
But they don't stay there. And the introduction of internet porn coincided with a massive increase in the number of child abductions and human trafficking.
I don’t know if I’d call it a “good thing” as too many eventually move to the real world or it ruins the real world for them.
That said, there is zero to be done for this, other than personally not using the product and teaching your kids about the evils of such things.
Many people are weird and creepy. They do weird and creepy things. That’s just a fact.
Crying “Armageddon” about stuff that is a variation of the world’s oldest profession destroys credibility.
Note, that doesn’t make it good or acceptable. It’s just another way perverts are going to pervert. Barely interesting.
“Sam Altman came across as an autistic sociopath. Morality seemed like the least of his concerns.” In other words, he’s the ideal pornographer. (He’s also Jewish, homosexual, and a vegan. Not that there’s any correlation . . . )
Sin aint devouring itself fast enough. This will help it along.
Why do you think his being (presumably a non believing) Jewish man is relevant to anything?
Raj Koothrapalli and Howard Wolowitz would like a word...
Babylon or Sodom and Gomorrah?
