New York City's Times Square installed a statue of a 12-foot-tall Black woman in casual clothing that its creator hopes will encourage people to reflect on "greater cultural diversity."
New York-based Times Square Arts recently put up the new statue display, titled "Grounded in the Stars," by artist Thomas J Price, along with his "Man Series" animated billboards, both of which are temporary, but causing a stir online.

This really is like the movie Idiocracy. Surprised they don’t replace the statue of Li erty with a humongous version of this very statue, along with the orange inmate clothing.
A statue of an entitled, fat, low i.q., media brainwashed hater.
Now we need one with a TSA uniform and disposable gloves.
Actually, in keeping with the theme of that area, just as there is a lovely statue of George M. Cohan at 42nd Street, a full statue or bust of Eubie Blake and or Noel Sissle, the very FIRST blacks who wrote and directed the FIRST and some other Broadways plays as well as wonderful, very well known songs, would at least have been VERY appropriate for the area and they were REAL and extremely accomplished men!
But no....they but up a HUGE, UGLY, statue of a someone who didn't ever exist, accomplished NOTHING at all, and is absolutely MEANINGLESS!
They could have done one based on the iconic photo of Diana Ross at the Central Park concert.

this only takes 10 seconds to do.
Check out my comment, on this thread about Eubie Blake and Nobel Sissle.
I didn’t want to
We have a beautiful mural of Harriet Tubman in Maryland:
I also noticed the remarkable resemblance to NY’s criminal AG. The statue of Letitia looks like she’s dressed for recess time in the prison yard.
Grounded by the stars, or by her huge butt?
Not crazy about that mural, but it's not some nobody he did nothing at all.
Liberals are blinded by and to their own racism.
Orange in extra large becomes her.
wonderful...
Strong Proud Black Woman
Well, that's what its supporters would call it.
YUCK!!!
I’d be upset, too, if I were black.
I can’t imagine Black AMericans appreciating this ugly thing to somehow represent them.
LOL! It looks like they made a statue honoring Mammy Two Shoes from Tom and Jerry.
