Hold the tofu.
New research suggests that vegans may be more likely to suffer from nutritional deficiencies than their meat-eating
Worse still, scientists found that even vegans who hit their daily protein goals with plant-based sources often fall short on two essential amino acids, putting their health at risk.
In the US, an estimated 1% to 5% of the population follows a vegan diet, which eliminates all animal products, including meat, dairy and eggs.
Over the years, researchers have found that following a plant-based diet can reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers, as well as help with weight management.
In fact, one study found that eating a vegan diet can improve your health in just four weeks.
But meat-eaters have long argued that animal products provide essential nutrients — particularly proteins, vitamins and minerals — that are tough to get in sufficient quantities from a plant-based diet.
A new six-month study out of Australia might just support that claim.
Researchers tracked the diets of 240 adults, aged 30 to 75, ranging from strict vegans and dairy-eating vegetarians to good old-fashioned meat lovers.

I don't know if vegans eat like nuts but they like the bone. Check out these lyrics in the song New Age Girl Lyrics by Deadeye Dick
[Verse 1]
I've got a new-age girl (Tell us what she's like)
An environmentalist girl (Does she ride a bike?)
She has a crystal necklace (Does she spend a lot of cash?)
Though her vibes are rather reckless (She's heading for a crash)
Oh, her flowing skirt is blowing in a transcendental wind
And she wonders without knowing, “Where did we begin?”
[Chorus]
Mary Moon, she's a vegetarian
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon will outlive all the septuagenarians
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Oh, she loves me so, she hurts to be alone
She don't eat meat, but she sure like the bone
Awich and Ferg ‘Butcher Shop’ (Live Performance) | Genius Open Mic
[Verse 2]
You know she drives a wind car (How does she like it?)
It doesn't get her far (Why she doesn't bike it?)
But it gets her to where she's going to (I don't know, I don't know, I don't know)
Where that is, I wish I knew
I don't know where she's going and I don't know where she's been
All I know that lovin’ her has got to be a sin
[Chorus]
Mary Moon, she's a vegetarian
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon will outlive all the septuagenarians
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Oh, she loves me so, she hurts to be alone
She don't eat meat, but she sure like the bone
[Verse 3]
Mary Moon, will you hesitate?
Don't segregate your thoughts from your emotions (Mary Moon)
I know devotion isn't way up high
[Instrumental Break]
[Chorus]
Mary Moon, she's a vegetarian
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon will outlive all the septuagenarians
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon, she's an intellectual
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon, despite that fact, remains quite sexual
(Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon (Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Oh, Mary Moon (Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Mary Moon (Mary Moon, Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
She's the one for me, me, me! (Mary Moon, Mary Moon)
Don’t pescatarians live longer, than even vegans or vegetarians ? - certainly than carnivores.
Blennos ~ Well, that's unwelcome news. And on a lovely Sunday morning too.
This Sunday is different, this Sunday we celebrate a man who died and didn't stay dead.
Thus giving us hope for our own eternal afterlife.
Thanks for the laughs! Most of those types of cartoons suck, these don’t!
Cult is a meaningless word with negative connotations. Any belief can be technically a cult. Are you a Christian? - cult. Into NASCAR? - cult. Into sports? - cult. It is a meaningless term to imply your superiority over others who believe differently. Virtue signalling. Which may be a cult as well.
good for you! realize though that those who consciously choose what they do and don’t like to eat really couldn’t care less about what you choose or don’t choose to eat outside of a comment of “that’s nice”. no offense meant...unless you are a dyed-in-the-wool liberal leftist vegan activist. in that case EVERY offense is deeply meant. but have a nice day ‘cause if you are on FR, you are one of us.
I agree. Headlines no longer inform. They tease.
Typical modern headlines might read:
"What I Saw When I Returned to Work Horrified Me!"
"I Cried When My Husband Told Me This Secret!"
"This Common Food Item in Your Pantry Is Deadly!"
Fortunately, it is EASTER Sunday.
He is risen, He is risen indeed!

Enjoy your vegetables BipolarBob. Enjoy your vegetables.
I am a cultist of cults that defy the cult monikers that define cults that are truly made up of cults that define cults that are made up because THAT my friends is the only cult of cults that matters. all the rest are just cults.
Vegetables are what food eats.
It would have been nearly impossible in most of the earth (availability of food sources) to follow a vegan diet and not starve before the age of the modern grocery store.
Veganism is a modern day and artificial life-style for childless, EV driving, inner city folks unsure about the gender. It makes them feel good or even feel superior by not killing animals and for environmental reasons (mostly philosophical, not health), the latter being all BS BTW. You don't put cows on prime agricultural land. In fact, as cows are fed and poop all over the crap land, they usually RAISE the quality of the soil (total opposite of what the environmental argument is).
We have canine and incisor teeth, stereo scopic vision for a reason, like all predators.
Your post #7 is spot-on.
How can you tell if someone is a Vegan?
You don’t have to, they tell you.
Thank you for saying that.
Veganism is many things. Dislike of farm factory procedures and cruelty to animals. Dislike of hormones and substances put into animals raised for food. A belief that animal fat is detrimental to health. Whatever.
My ex is a vegan and it's purely for health reasons, in his mind. He would never inflict it on others or lecture others ... unless they asked.
Sometimes when people tell you they're vegan it's another way of saying will there be anything at the party/mixer/event that I can eat within my dietary choices.
Vegan is an excellent way of eating and very healthy ... but ONLY if you do the research on what you must be getting in your diet from plants once you cut out all animal products. For example, you MUST supplement with B-12. Veganism takes more work and food prep ... you can't just replace meat with salads and vegetables. It's not easy at first but like anything else if you're dedicated you can make it work for you.
This method will make you wealthy withing a month and they can't stop you from using it.
This secret will make any person fall in love with you and do your will
I thought it was the purple or green hair?
You’ve done it now, Liz. Bringing facts, logic and first hand knowledge into the discussion is frowned upon the emotional mob. I, myself, am not vegan but I have a family member that is. I say let every person judge for themself their lifestyle as long as it does not infringe on others.
Do you really think any diet plan where you need to pop pills not to become deficient is natural?
