WASHINGTON, D.C. — Global tensions over tariffs continued to rise amid the ongoing trade war, as the White House announced that General Tso's Chicken would be renamed General Don's Oriental Chicky Nugs.

The renaming of the popular Chinese dish was only the latest move made by the Trump administration to increase pressure on the Chinese government to reach a new normal in international trade relations, with Trump pledging not to budge on the new name.

"They're sweet, they're savory, they're spicy… and now they're named after me, Donald Trump," the president told reporters aboard Air Force One when the news broke. "I don't know who General Tso is, but he does not deserve to have this delicious chicken named after him. He was probably a horrible communist. From now on, General Tso's Chicken will now be known by the new — and really quite fantastic, I might add — name of General Don's Oriental Chicky Nugs. They're tasty, they're orange, and like me, they're everyone's favorite."

Chinese restaurants across the United States received orders to rename the dish on their menus, effective immediately. "We've already been inundated with orders," said Liu Huang, owner of Golden Dragon Yum Yum Chinese Food in Anaheim, California. "Everybody want to eat General Don's Oriental Chicky Nugs tonight."

At publishing time, the Trump administration planned to add to its demand that Crab Rangoon be renamed Vance Rangoon.

According to Panda Express, a Fast Food chain, General Tso’s Chicken was invented by their founder and several other restaurants claim it was their recipe that started it. Nobody knows for sure.................

I would have named the story:

In Yet Another Cruel Blow To China, General Tso’s Chicken To Be Renamed ‘General Donald's really great USA raised clean, and really great food for anti-communists.’

:snicker:

The Bee is buzzing.

FYI: General Tso’s Chicken was invented in Taiwan.

Perhaps we should rename all Chinese food as Taiwanese food?

It’s true. He called it orange chicken. Invented for Americans taste.

It became so popular other restaurants copied it. That’s when they renamed it General Tso’s ti compete.

Panda Express still rules in sales.

A pretty good documentary on General Ts(a)o and the chicken dish named for him here, as well as how Chinese food in general got so popular here:

There’s at least three other restaurants claiming they invented it!

It’s like Philly Cheese steak.......

Those guys in Marketing... can’t believe a thing they say.

Panda Express ain’t hardly dried out behind the ears, yet.
Ol’ General Tso’s chicken dish has appeared on every Chinese restaurant menu I’ve ever seen over the last 50 years.
