MILWAUKEE, WI — Local man Aiden Jackson suffered a devastating blow earlier today after he stepped in a little wet spot on the kitchen floor while wearing socks.
Sources say the event has ruined his day, and perhaps his life.
"Ew, my feet are squishy and damp, now," said the man helplessly as the cruel liquid soaked into his socks. "Why would a good God allow such a thing to happen?"
"That's about as bad as it gets, honestly," said Stacy Jackson, Aiden's wife. "I wear slippers in the kitchen myself to avoid just this sort of thing."
Experts say that the emotional damage of stepping in a puddle of water while wearing socks is even worse than that of treading barefoot on a pile of Legos, and about the same as having a piece of popcorn stuck between your teeth with no way to get it out.
"This is devastating for him," said Bradley Nelson, an expert. "He'll have to go change his socks now. So annoying."
At publishing time, Jackson's day had gotten even worse after realizing the wet spot in the kitchen was cat pee.

It's Friday, and we could all use a little humor, and a little perspective.
 Eww, cat pee.

    LOVE the Babylon Bee.
I *HATE* getting my socks wet. If I do, I change them right away and when I travel I always carry extra socks in case that happens.

I will never forget whe my late husband got into bed, left his slippers on the floor next to the bed. He woke up during the night, stepped into his slippers and I heard a loud howl come from him.
Apparently kitty had puked into his slipper. Nothing like the feel of cold squishy puke on the bare foot.

When I was going to college, commuting each day from my parent’s house where I lived in the refurbished attic, I brought home a golden retriever puppy!
I kept her up in the attic with me at night.
One night, I woke up in pitch blackness (there were no windows, and the light switch was on the other side of the attic) and I smelled the overpowering smell of dog poop.
I broke out in a cold sweat. It was out there. A brown pile lay out there in the darkness on the gray carpet, wreathed in darkness to hide it.
This was before the days of everyone having a cell phone with a flashlight built in. I had no choice.
I had to walk through the minefield.
I did manage to make it to the light switch, and when I turned it on, there were five separate brown piles!
I described this to a friend, and he said “Hahahahaha! I wish I could have been there if you had stepped in one of those piles! You would have screamed out
‘Auugggh! They got me!’...!”

    Cat pee...
Trust me, our feline overlords can produce substances far, far more unpleasant than cat pee.
