Elon Musk seems to be at the head of a drive to allow White South Africans to immigrate to America as refugees. The South African Whites are Westerners, and the West should not abandon its people to a vindictive, hostile, government in South Africa. But can anyone doubt that this country was far more stable when the core demographic was West European?

Russia has already taken in 15,000.

well, not 500 - that was hyperbole on my part I admit.

The Boers arrived in the Cape of Good Hope to settle from 1652 -- that is 370 years.

When the Boers came, the native people were Khoi-San

Now they may look "black", but genetically they are as far away from Bantu-speaking "black Africans" as those Bantu-speakers are from us.

The Bantu-speakers like Zulus came from west Africa and they expanded when they discovered agriculture (this was completely independent of the discoveries of agriculture in the fertile crescent or in the yangtze valley)

The Bantu-speakers' agriculture was suitable for the tropics with cassava etc. - so their expansion halted at what is now the borders of south africa

the earlier Khoi-San (who had separated thousands of years earlier) were hunter-gatherers so were less dependent on the crop and the Boers came from temperate climates with temperate crops

Zulu expansion came with the adoption of european crops.

Sorry. White South Africans were overcome by force. They need to stay where they are and fight back.

And this is one case of where US assistance (not military forces!) would be warranted.

I think this is likely true, but their culture is something they bring with them, and unless we have some method of training it out of them, it is a permanent part of what they are.

I have a friend that says the problem with Gaza is that they are taught to hate the Jews from the time they are born till the time they die, and the only solution is to get those kids away from their parents and break the cycle of their parents teaching them hate.

While this makes sense on the one hand, we oppose this very sort of thinking from liberals who feel they need to do that with American kids.

But I don't see a solution to people taught to behave badly because they were raised in a bad culture.

But it's quite possible they'll improve in 20 years from now.

I'm thinking Israel keeps a pretty tight rein on them. Maybe over time the trouble makers got weeded out, or perhaps many still exist within their ranks and just have not manifested themselves to Israel yet.

But let's say they have successfully integrated into Israeli society. How many generations did it take?

Letting the unaffiliated mobs do it instead will be of scant comfort to the people who will get killed. The Government will certainly protect the mobs from retaliation by the victim's families.

These South Africans didn't go into "Baltimore", they were born there. Yes, anyone going to South Africa right now is a fool, but people can hardly be blamed for the situation into which they were born.
