'Doomed': Experts say this crucial campaign decision led to VP Harris' 'disastrous' defeat
Fox News ^ | 11/07/24 | Andrew Mark Miller

Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential bid has political strategists second guessing many of her campaign choices, including her selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.

"The choice of Walz was only one of many disastrous mistakes but symptomatic of one larger problem — the Democratic Party leadership is too scared to say no to the hard-left progressive wing of the party," Julian Epstein, longtime Democratic operative and former chief counsel to the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox News Digital.

"This hard left opposes commonsense solutions that [Pennsylvania] Gov. [Josh] Shapiro supports — charter schools, for example. Or defeating terrorists rather than aping their talking points and positions, which allow them to stay in power and rearm for the next genocidal attack," Epstein continued. "It’s the hard-left progressive wing that looks first to welfare and redistribution rather than economic growth, and to cultural extremism on migration and gender deeply out of touch with the American electorate. Walz was a really bad choice for sure, but their choice was part of a deeper problem."

Rob Bluey, president and executive editor of The Daily Signal, told Fox News Digital that Walz being added to the ticket was a significant error in judgment.

"Historically, vice presidents have little impact on a presidential candidate’s fate," Bluey said. "But in the case of Tim Walz, it proved to be a disastrous decision that doomed Kamala Harris from the moment she made it. Not only was Walz ill-prepared for the national spotlight and media scrutiny, but Harris passed over several better options. Given how little Americans knew about Harris or her policy positions, they were right to question her judgment on this big decision."

Harris faced scrutiny even from some in her own party over her decision to name Walz, who many view...

She lost for one simple reason: Middle class and working class Americans knew that the country is broken and that The Big Guy and Kommie were the ones who broke it. They knew that Kommie helped break it when she acknowledged in an interview that she wouldn't have done anything differently than The Big Guy and they knew it when The Big Guy acknowledged in an interview that Kommie was a vital part of every decision he made.

IOW...the middle class and working class didn't want four more years of Biden's puppet masters.

Julian Epstein nailed it
“It’s the hard-left progressive wing that looks first to welfare and redistribution rather than economic growth, and to cultural extremism on migration and gender deeply out of touch with the American electorate”

Her “policy positions” consisted of a bunch of white papers written by staffers that nobody ever read.

In 2021, Kamala, the vice-president, had a staff of 47 people. By 2024, 43 of those 47 staffers quit or had been fired.

The biggest complaint from those ex-staffers is that she never read the talking points or notes given to her. Ann Coulter said it best, "She was a loon."

Kamala is just not a smart person. On top of that she is arrogant and I believe she made every decision, and refused input and advice. What we saw was just a little more sophisticated than a popular girl running for student body President.

When Ballz was selected as the VP candidate, there were some very credible rumors floating around that Shapiro didn’t want to be considered for it.

For me it wouldn’t matter who she picked. I did not want HER or her rotten Democrat party.

SHE was bringing along with her her silent partners, Obama, Hillary, Bill, and the rest of that cast of commies.

No thank you.

Walz was just a side show and it reflected all that I already knew.

Liberals just don’t understand why they are rejected by so many Americans because they spend their time mostly in echo chambers, ignore facts that don’t support their agenda, get blindsided by unintended consequences, and get obsessed thinking that More Government is the answer to the world’s problems, and so often fail to understand that BIG government is so often the real problem.

Kamala Harris’ failed presidential bid has strategists pinpointing many of her campaign choices:
her selection of weirdo Minnesota’s Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate tops the list.

Wrong!

Harris was defeated because the American People recognize in President Trump the virtues that have made America great.

In prevailing over all the injustices, onslaughts, attacks, and evil leveled against him, he set a great example for the American People.

They recognized heroism and greatness in him--and, by his example, in themselves.

That's why he won.

His enemies cannot recognize greatness, heroism, and profound goodness, and that is their great misfortune.

IMHO, Kamala has been “gifted” virtually every position she has occupied, and when she had to work for and achieve something herself it proved to be a bridge too far. She’s just like a lot of those “celebrities” the dems trotted out in that they are told how beautiful, smart, talented, etc. so often by people who are making a living of them, they start believing the BS. Kamala is just ordinary at best, nothing more.

This has led me to believe that not only is Kamala dumb as a rock, but she may be functionally illiterate as well.

She lost because EVERY decision and policy was the exact opposite of what Americans believe in. The list is so long. The Walz appointment, actually, was kind of cool; it provided a side-show for the whole circus — entertainment.

And the rest of us didn’t want a stupid woman with a perverted husband in the WH.

That is all nonsense. Campaign decisions did not doom her. What doomed her is herself and her record. However, it is very alarming that she garnered the millions of votes with both witnessing against her.
