The human body doesn’t age steadily throughout middle age and instead goes through bursts of rapid aging typically at around age 44 and again at 60, according to a new study published Wednesday in the academic journal Nature Aging.
Stanford University researchers tracked age-related changes in more than 135,000 types of molecules and microbes in samples collected every three to six months from more than 100 adults between the ages of 25 and 75 years old.
Researchers gathered more than 5,400 blood, stool, skin nasal swab and oral swabs as part of the study, and as a result were able to track more than 135,000 different kinds of chemical compounds, bacteria and cell parts affected by aging.
Scientists found the abundance of these molecules and microbes did not change steadily over time but rather increased and decreased rapidly around two ages — first around the onset of a person’s 40s and again in their 60s.

Pretty sure I missed those too. And well past 60. Actually middle 70’s. Which is 72-78 in my reasoning. 😳😊👍
It’s weird, huh?
Very because when I look in the mirror it barfs
~"Because they want to."
I can vouch for the ‘age 60’ aspect.
Lost 1-2 steps of burst speed at that age.
I’m the same age, but had a few health bumps around those ages.
Guess we’re home free! ;)
New study finds researchers in the medial field rapidly acquire massive grant funds when compared to other fields’ grant mongers.
My father lived to 103 and my mom 99. So let’s see if I can mess this up. :)
Apparently, participating in a debate can age a person decades.
According the mainstream media, Joe Biden went from a sharp, fit person in full command of his office before his debate with Trump to a senile shell of a man who was unfit to run for re-election immediately afterward.
God Bless
I had several age related issues in my 50’s.
Luckily I quit working and took up golf, playing 200+ rounds of 18 every year. Must have helped coz now at age 84, have no health issues, zero medical expenses out of pocket. Quit golf at age 76 due to moving to Florida. Now it is beach walks every week day, except when hurricanes are present.
Still playing gigs in a band so.........
So what age did it hit Tim A-Walz?
25
Exercise, eat rationally and intermittent fast, my brothers and sisters. It will keep you younger.
My observation from watching older family members is that the real decline happens in their late 70s. They go from active and able to travel overseas to frail and house-bound within a year or two.
yeah, yeah, yeah. Exercise, eat right and die anyway. Sloth, gluttony and party every night like it's 1999 and flame out early to avoid the coming Zombie Apocalypse. You want to be here for the big ZA?? Fine, but when it turns to cannibalism, remember this . . vegetarians are like free range, GMO free, organic lean targets walking around. I'm sleeping through that one.
I’m 61. Someone the other day told me that I look early 50’s. Maybe it’s because I refuse to grow up.
