During a total solar eclipse, the sun's ghostly white corona appears around the black disk of the moon. This total solar eclipse was photographed on Aug. 21, 2017 in Oregon.

Solar eclipses have great religious significance for superstitious pagans like Bill and Melinda Gates, Tony Fauci, Warren Buffett, Albert Bourla, Tedros Ghebreyesus, Ted Turner, António Guterres, Klaus Schwab, etc.
It is a big deal to me. I’m in my motorhome on the way from Albuquerque to Boerne Tx to see it.
I had plans for a trip to Oregon in 2017 but those plans where changed when my daughter set her wedding for that day in southern California.
I’m hoping for an opening in the expected clouds to see it.
We will see.
Beauty!
We are dead center in the path of totality. The center line of the path is about 10 miles from our house.
They are expecting over 100,000 people to come to our rural county this weekend to watch the eclipse. Every hotel, motel, RV park and Airbnb within 50 miles has been booked for weeks. People are renting RV parking spaces (with no utilities) in their parking lots, driveways, and pastures for $150 or more per night. We are expected to lose cell phone service this weekend because there will be far more people trying to access the limited number of cell phone towers in our county than the towers can handle. The two main highways passing through our county (one a state highway and the other a farm to market road, neither with more than two lanes in either direction) are expected to be bumper to bumper from Friday afternoon through Tuesday morning. The local grocery store looks like the early days of COVID when people panic shopped and striped the shelves of everything.
The current weather forecast is for clouds and thunderstorms all day on Monday. I would like to see the eclipse, but I won’t be too upset if most of the 100,000 people decide to go somewhere else.
This is going to help with global warming, right.
All that area not getting any sunlight. I imagine it will lower the overall global temperature 3-4 degrees for the rest of time.
Science! (am i doing this right?)
I thought I was reading that the eclipse will last something like 4 minutes 15 seconds
Depends where people are along the way?
