Cereals regarded as healthy may actually raise your risk of dementia — and it's not because of the sugar.
A study published in the journal General Psychiatry found a link between a vitamin in brands such as Cheerios and Shreddies and cognitive decline, which can be a precursor for dementia.
Thiamine, or vitamin B1, is also found naturally in whole grains, legumes, liver and salmon, and not getting enough of it has also been linked to health issues.
But researchers say for the first time they've discovered a J-shaped curve that indicates consuming too much also has negative consequences.

Who paid for the science?
Probably online newspapers looking for clickbait.
So what they’re saying is that Vitamin B1 is bad/good for you.
I’m doomed.
Are they trying to move all of us to GMO-only food?
Everything in moderation...
Wot?
I eat oatmeal everyday and have seen no signs of dementia. I was born before WW-II ended.
Unless the study has been independently replicated, it is probably not accurate or valid.
Horse hockey
It ended?
Yep. That was going to be my post. Now we always have to ask who paid for the study and how do they profit from the result.
Everything in moderation.
B1 reduces mental disturbance and can get people off of psych meds. The purpose behind this hit piece is obvious.

I do a tricked up oatmeal at least once a week. Add applesauce, crushed walnuts, sunflower kernels, dried cherries, dried pineapple and a little milk. No other sugars needed due to all the fruit.
I may be doomed too....i think. I’m not sure because, well...what was the subject?
BS! Try the chlorine bleach they wash the silos with, the fluoride in the water they use and the pesticides they spray on grains.
Oats are sprayed with large amount of pesticide.
