Two teenagers accused of killing a retired police chief were seen smirking, laughing and making obscene hand gestures in court as their trial date was set.
Jesus Ayala, 18, and Jzamir Keys, 16, both face charges which include numerous felonies including murder in relation to the death of Andreas Probst, 64.
The defendants could be seen smiling and laughing as Probst's family gathered in a Las Vegas court room for a hearing on Tuesday morning.
The pair have been charged as adults and entered not-guilty pleas to multiple felonies including murder, battery and grand larceny of an automobile.
Probst died after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle down a highway, which police believe was intentionally done by Ayala and Keys in August.
Probst daughter Taylor told KSNV after the hearing: 'These guys did not respect the court whatsoever. They were just d*****g around the entire time.'
During the hearing, in which a trial date was set, Taylor said the two had flipped her and her mother off.
She told the outlet: 'They (the defendants) were flipping us off. How can you sit there after taking a man's life and act like such an entitled p***k?'
Besides the fatal collision with Probst, which the two are said to have filmed, police also believe they had been involved earlier that day in another incident of a 72-year-old cyclist being mowed down.
New video released by a local court on Monday allegedly shows the teens laughing and intentionally striking the 72-year-old man.
The victim suffered a knee injury from the crash but survived, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Separate surveillance footage showed what's believed to be the suspects trying to flee the cops by running through a parking lot.

There are people that cannot be rehabilitated. These two cannot be rehabilitated. That said ….. Execute them for civilizations’ well-being

If you just take them far enough out in the desert and leave them with no shoes or water you can save the cost of a couple of cartridges.
We need alternatives to incarceration. Like execution.
It has been said “... some people just need killin’ ...”
Can’t be give death penalty due to ages at time of act and the heaviest sentence is life-with-possibility of parole.
The only hope/justice that can be had is both of them get offed by other prisoners, but this won’t happen because victim was retired LEO. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are treated like prison rock stars.
I am still an advocate for penal colonies.
If someone is incapable or unwilling to observe our societal norms, then they need to be excluded from our society.
The penal system cannot be viewed as a binary choice of rehabilitation of a perpetrator or punishment of him. His simple removal from society is also a desired goal.
BTW, we own a vast amount of suitable locations throughout the Aelutian Island chain.
Lots of room for migrants up that way, too.
Oh I am not so sure. With their punk like attitudes, sure they will tick off some hardcore inmates quickly enough.
There’s already an island with criminals. Manhattan.

My thoughts exactly
Hard labor - 6 days a week. Minimal and basic food. No weight rooms. Much stricter control of what comes in prisons - to eradicate drugs. Essentially, make prison a very hard life.
There are vast stretches of Alaska that would be perfect.
Cold, harsh conditions...impossible for escape. It would be expensive but it could be done, I suppose.
It’s not necessary to insult Manhattan every chance you get.
Kill them both and make this world a better place!
Give them a free trip to North Sentinel Island.
Court is the problem here. There should be no trial, it’s all on video and they joke about it. Why the waste of money and time? They’ll be convicted and spend the next 70 years in pr6st the taxpayer expense.
They should be shot to death with a pellet gun with the shooter laughing the whole time.
