A Delta Air Lines pilot became incapacitated during a flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Los Angeles, California (USA).
The flight was enroute in Canadian airspace when the pilot became “medically incapacitated.”
The crew declared an emergency and diverted the plane for an emergency landing in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The incident occurred on DL-291 on September 22, 2023.
The Aviation Herald reports:

This is the third pilot incapacitation or death 100 Percent Fed Up has reported this week.
100 Percent Fed Up reported on the sudden passing of a 37-year-old Alaska Airlines pilot during his layover.
In addition, the captain of an Austrian Airlines flight started to feel unwell and became incapacitated during descent into Vienna.

Happens all the time. Don’t let it bother you.
Thank you, that’s much more valid information than the usual knee-jerk assumptions.
Clot shots
There are always 3 pilots onboard for flights that long. They take turns resting so that 2 are fresh for take off and landing. Pilots of airliners must get a ekg medical every six months. For some odd reason the faa changed the acceptable heart rhythm about 18 months ago. The standards hadn’t changed for 50 years. They loosened the standards to allow for a more irregular heartbeat. Weird?
I fly in the charter world. It’s become common that customers request non vaccinated pilots. Weird?
Three.
Doctors and pilots. Two professions which require meritocracy. And if quota hiring is demanded by law, do you know who that hurts the most? Any doctor or pilot who fits the quota category but is competent at his job. They will be eyed with suspicion by their patients and passengers. BTW, this story ranks up there with the old ladies gossiping by the fireplace at Hank Rearden’s party in Atlas Shrugged.
Nothing to worry about here. Such a thing happens quite frequently. Or at least NOW it happens quite frequently. As time moves on and the graphs show the increase in number of such incidents is common, people will forget the “time before”.
“Don’t drink the coffee. Don’t ever drink the coffee.”
Why is that?
And other pilots will be cautious too. If affirmative action is present in hiring, it's also very likely to be present in training -- the weak pilots are protected if they are minorities/women, but the majority pilots (white) are given no special favors (extra training to meet standards, for example). And ditto for violations of company policy. Some are fired and others are given extra chances.
Because the water tanks are never cleaned or purified. They’re just refilled as necessary.
Gross.
Yikes..
