A brand-new battery technology could soon power EVs for 1,000 miles — on a single charge.
To put that in perspective…
If you were to drive a Nissan Leaf from coast to coast, you’d have to recharge the battery eight times…
A Chevy Bolt, seven times…
Even the Tesla Model X would need to be charged six times.
And you’d have to hang around for anywhere between one and 12 hours at each charging station.
But with this new battery technology in your vehicle, you’d only have to recharge ONCE … in a matter of minutes.

I looked it up. Seattle to Boston mileage is 3032, Boston to East Quoddy Head is 246 mi. Seattle to Cape Alava is 160 mi.
Di-Lithium crystals of course. LOL
“More power Scotty!” “Captain she gonna blow!”
1000 miles on a charge means you’d still have to charge 3 or 4 times to go coast to coast.
Shortest would be Jacksonville Beach FL to San Diego, 2358 mi.
LOL, they were way off on the milage too. Last time I trust AI for an answer. You would think it would be better than that. Just proves what I have been saying along, AI is only as good as the data it has availability to, and the algorithms it uses. If the data available to it is garbage, it will spit out garbage. If the algorithms suck the answer will suck. 🤣
Panama.
The coasts are only 50 miles apart.
Which coasts are they referring to? The ones I’m familiar with are 3000 miles apart.
= = =
How about in Flordia?
Atlantic to Gulf
Don’t joke about ecat…you might hurt kevmo’s feelings.
1000 miles per charge? Its more than 2000 miles, closer to 3000 miles coast to coast. Yet they say just one stopto charge?
” The amount of energy you can transfer in a second at the gas pump would take over an hour at a 5000 W charging station.”
I don’t understand why you are talking about 5000 W charging stations. Tesla superchargers are up to 150 kW or 250 kW.
Cape Alava is on the West Coast, (my) Washington State. But I’ve not yet been there.
San Diego to N’Orleans, perhaps?
The guy that first alerted me, then went further and checked the milage. He found even that as off. 🤣🤣🤣
The whole point was to prove that there is no coast-to-coast route that in 1,00 miles, and there is not one even remotely close to 1,000 miles.
Call it Shipstone! (a few will get this.)
magical electric car companies too POOF gone one would have a better chance of selling hula hoops.
Wouldn’t Orlando to Tampa be coast to coast?
“Which coasts are they referring to? The ones I’m familiar with are 3000 miles apart.”
Even SD to Corpus Christi would be over 1000 miles.
They left out the initial charge, which means in reality it's TWO CHARGES to get from coast-to-coast.
If they had written "Can Drive Coast To Coast On A Single Additional Charge" instead, it might have been true (time will tell).
But the headline as published IS A LIE.
A lot of stupid things make sense to a stupid public with crap government school education. Things like global warming, wind & solar grid power, veganism, flat earth, moon landing hoax, synthetic mRNA injections, paper masks to prevent the Wuhanic Plague ...
