Someone who isn’t into vaping?
Pummeling old people is wrong. Obviously. Doesn’t really need to said, right?
Still, times being what they are, I don’t think anyone on the subway should be verbalizing observations and criticizing strangers. The stranger is rolling a cigarette? And you plan to make a big deal out of this? Let’s see how that works out for you.
I’m just saying people should be careful. Trouble will find you easy enough. Don’t go looking for it. The world is crazy.
Another son of Obeyme.
That was a very dumb thing for the old man to do.
My brother has been intentionally tripped on both the subway and buses whiling going between job sites in NYC. He’s an older white man, an usually the tripper is neither older or white. He had a bus driver call for the cops to be at the next stop. When the cops were finished, they told him just to walk away. They said the cameras on the bus and the other passengers backed his story, but the assailants story was that he called her a racial slur as he walked past her, and the cops would have to arrest both of them. So now he takes cabs.
Yep, and probably an illegal guest.
“It’s not clear whether the attacker actually got to smoke his cigarette, which is against transit rules, but the elderly man was apparently making a pre-emptive gripe.”
If I am reading that convoluted sentence correctly, the writer (Amanda Wood) seems to be worried as to whether the poor perp was able to have his illicit cigerette.
Harlem
The old man violated an old street rule of new york city. Mind your own damn business and keep your mouth shut.
New York city should be renamed “Bartertown”.
If one is in their seventies they should know better. A guaranteed way to get a beat down. Just walk on by
I don’t understand why the 70 year old thought it was his business to get involved. So many of these situations occur when a person puts their nose in other’s business. Is rolling cigarettes illegal? No! So keep moving.
Some elderly don’t recognize danger.
I for one do, and I feel like a victim waiting to happen.
We are an easy targets. Even to youngsters.
I am going to place good money it was a liberal.
I work for security company and we have the LRT contract. We can’t approach anybody, regardless of their behaviour. Even if they are snorting coke in front of children and injecting heroin. We can’t do a thing.
...all because the elderly man complained about him rolling a cigarette in the station, cops said Friday...”
Should have been beaten.
Mind thy own business.
And always observed the rule of ten.
Out of all the people you meet one out of ten is having a bad day.
Out of those, one out of ten is on the edge.
And of those, one out of ten is guano crazy.
So leave people alone.
The life you save may be your own.
I’m sorry but who cares who’s rolling a cigarette? Minding ones own business is a good way not to meet the potentially violent.
