Three individuals still at large after assaulting 68-year-old woman (Source: Rincon Police Department) (Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Georgia woman, Donna Hansbrough, aged 68, was terminated from her job at Lowe’s after taking matters into her own hands to stop three brazen shoplifters who had stolen thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.
Hansbrough had been a dedicated employee at the company for 13 years until the incident occurred. According to Lowe’s, her termination was based on her violation of company policy against personally restraining shoplifters, even though her intentions were to prevent theft.
In an interview with the Effingham Herald, Hansbrough recounted the harrowing experience. She explained, “They say that if you see somebody stealing something out the door, not to pursue, not to go out. I lost it.” She further added, “I grabbed the cart. I don’t actually remember going out but I did. And I grabbed the cart that had the stolen items in [it].”
During the incident, one of the alleged perpetrators allegedly punched the 68-year-old woman in the face three times, causing her to sustain a black eye and injuries.
Law enforcement officials are currently searching for the accused perpetrators – Takyah Berry, Joseph Berry, and Jamar Lawton. They have released photos of these individuals and called on the community to report any sightings or information related to their whereabouts.
Responding to her termination, Hansbrough expressed her shock, saying, “didn’t expect to get terminated, maybe a reprimand or a suspension. I just got tired of seeing things get out the door. I just, I lost it. I basically lost all the training. Everything they tell you to do, I just…I just lost it.”
Hansbrough began her career at Lowe’s as a cashier and was later promoted to live-nursery specialist, showcasing her extensive experience in the field. However, she most recently worked as a customer service associate in the plans department before she was abruptly terminated.
Despite the traumatic incident, Hansbrough remains resilient and determined to find a new job. She asserted, “I can’t sit at home. I’m not that type of person,” and expressed her willingness to testify if law enforcement requires her cooperation.
Though she is still in the process of recovering from her injuries, there has been a decrease in the swelling around her eye since the incident occurred.
If they would just stick with building barns this wouldn’t happen.
Blocking their Reparations
She found out the hard way. It’s big business. They’re all about numbers. Bean counters. Those that would stand by and do nothing are into self preservation.
Perhaps the perps are the smart ones taking from the big business. Try that with a Korean small business merchant.

What the hell is wrong with Lowe’s management? Are they sadists? I get that the woman broke company policy. But she didn’t set fire to the building, shoot a manager, or anything like that.
Suspend her for a few days. She’ll need the time to heal anyway.
The company’s attorneys are grateful for this statement, since it works so well to protect them from any lawsuits this woman may have been tempted to file.
This case is why those policies exist. One elderly woman against three healthy, young men? They could’ve killed her. They could’ve put her on life support and endless surgeries.
I’ve personally watched em go into a Lowes, take a shopping cart and go to the ladder section. Then, take a ladder, go to the electrical section and use the ladder to get up high to where full cartons are stored, load two carts chock full of panels, breakers, outlets, Romex, etc. and just walk out the door with it... NOT one single solitary soul, including myself, was gonna interfere with their “reparations”.
It’s unsustainable. At some point, something has to be done.
I am a huge fan of Lowes. Own their stick and have given them many of my hard-earned dollars. This has me rethinking all that.
Race obviously had nothing to do with this.
Lowes should get the Bud Light treatment.

Per the above, the perps committed aggravated assault in GA.
Not really.
It is admittance of a mental condition, so it’s covered by ADA................
just wondering in light of the knowledge and acceptance of violent criminals into the store in the first place if Lowes can be sued for knowingly providing a dangerous workplace for their employees. bad things can only happen when bad people are allowed in.
Stores will be closed, jobs will be lost, then the criminals will turn on each other................
Lowes ought to worry more about receiving the Bud Light treatment from customers.
That is an excellent observation and I’m sure the lawyers will take note.....................
Donna Hansbrough, aged 68,will now have no problem whatsoever getting a new job .
I wish her well in her futire employment, that she make enough money to obtain a side arm and get lots of range time. A person of her stalwart character needs to be fast and accurate.
Lowes should get ARMED GUARDS...................
They will from me today. I need some parts to modify our existing sprinkler system installed by the house builder a few years back. Lowes is the closest store that would have those parts, but I will drive a little further today.
