A spokesperson for Comer noted that the hearing is still in its planning stages but it is “looking like it will happen towards the end of this month.” The Kentucky Republican said that it will be a subcommittee hearing.
Despite the early stages, the hearing has already sparked pushback not only within the committee but from the Defense Department, according to Burchett.
Another GOP member of the Oversight Committee, granted anonymity to speak candidly, said they plan to attend, but: “There are some people who want to stop it. There are some people who want to do it.” That lawmaker also said that they had been told the hearing will take place during the final week of July.
“There’s just internal machinations between staff and members … Some don’t want to do it at this time right now, think it is a bad idea,” the member said, adding that there was a concern that “people will run wild with it.”
An Oversight Committee staffer denied that there was pushback on the hearing, but indicated that staff is trying to work out witnesses.

The earlier hearing on UFO’s & UAP’s was held by people who had been in office (political and bureaucratic) but were out of government during the hearing.

If the security state cannot be reined in, it doesn’t matter if there are UFOs or not. We will live in a dystopian tyranny either way—A surveillance state run by folks running increasingly capable AI systems to make sure their power is never challenged and their boot is never off our necks.
Nothing is more important than reining in the security state and UFO’s are a great big distraction.
What are the chances that Biden founded civilization? His existence will be a small footnote in history. Such may not be true in the other case.

Oh, by the way. I handle both at the same time. I am also watching "The Man in the High Castle". Before I go to sleep I read science fiction. On weekends I work in my glorious wood/metal shop. In the mornings I read details of ARM processors and ADC instrumentation. Once a week I have high school robotics kids in the shop to teach them machine shop practices.
You see, I actually have a life that is not centered on the news. On the other hand, my pursuits satisfy me and uplift high school kids. I am completely unable to change anything that happens outside of my sphere of influence.
Maybe it is more appropriate to ask you if you are using your last years on earth in a pleasing and useful manner, or are you merely increasing your blood pressure?
There really are people who will go insane when faced with ETs.
