Some families in the U.S. are taking to social media to share their dislike for Santa Claus.
Like Sierra McKenzie, who has three children aged three weeks to three years and went on TikTok to exclaim why she is against Jolly Old Saint Nick.
McKenzie, 23, had more to say. “Telling kids that Santa is real is a lie, and I don’t believe in building my kids up on a lie,” McKenzie, who hails from North Dakota, told The New York Post.
“Your kids can still enjoy the magic of Christmas without believing in Santa,” she said, adding that the presents under her tree will be marked “From: Mom and Dad,” according to the Post.
McKenzie says she doesn’t tell her kids Santa “sees you when your sleeping” or any of that. She says he’s a made up character.
Must make for awkward conversations with their friends.
“The magic of Christmas shouldn’t be built up on Santa,” McKenzie told the Post. “It’s about the gift of giving to one another.”
The Post pointed out that the hashtag #SantaIsntReal on TikTok has garnered more than 14 million views with other parents ripping Santa and saying they won’t play ball with the traditional beliefs about him.
“I don’t want to scare my children into thinking that they have to behave a certain way or that they were more ‘naughty or nice,’ than another child based on Christmas gifts,” said Chloe Amelle, 24, a mom of two and parenting influencer from southern Utah.
Apparently telling kids Santa isn’t real is a form of something called “gentle parenting.”

And that isn’t about her decision about Santa..
FWIW, we didn’t raise our kids with Sanaa. We told them the TRUE meaning of Christmas, it being about Jesus and God’s greatest gift of all, and didn’t lie to them about it being all about gift giving to each other.
That woman is just replacing one lie with another.
Don’t worry about it everybody - the elves and reindeer want to work from home so Santa has to find a new gig.

My best friend was raised believing in Santa, as I was, but had a totally different reaction when she learned the truth.
It didn’t faze me in the least.
She was devastated when she learned there was no Santa, not because he didn’t really exist, but because the people she loved and trusted the most had lied to her. She could not fathom why they would lie to her like that.
Christ is after all the reason for CHRISTmas.
If the predictable sourpuss faces want to take out the happiness part of the season, let them just watch Hallmark Christmas movies where the death of Mother, Father, Wife, Husband, Aunt, Uncle, Cousin and whatever HANGS LIKE GHOSTS OF ALL CHRISTMASES and leaves you with a feeling of despair.
AS for me, I’ll look for the JOY and OPTIMISM of Christmas.
I think THAT is what HE would want.

I was disappointed for a while but I got over it in time. Eventually I took it as a part of growing up. Christmas over the years of my life has changed in various ways. It’s still enjoyable and a good way to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

In the end you're fine with lying to your children so long as it is your kind of lie. People like you is why I walked away from organized religion and have no intention of ever returning. Your efforts to prove to men how righteous you are falls flat.
However, plenty of public school classmates made fun of other classmates who still believed in Santa. In addition, we all thought that if we keep telling our parents "we believe," we could keep this gift train rolling.
Does this mean "Santa" turns kids into cold, calculating scheming trolls? Maybe. But we never held it against our parents.
Leftism is based on make-believe (global warming, boys can be girls, white supremacy, Russiagate, etc.), but they attack innocent make-believe.

Oh sure we did. Well at least we had those people, even if we didn’t use the words. What do you think Dr Spock was? Parenting books, with bad, and usually conflicting advice, have been around forever.
Jesus was God's gift to the world. Through Jesus man has the gift of life ever lasting..
It’s funny you mentioned Dr. Spock. He was the first one I thought of who was the biggest “influencer.”
Heck, many of the Ann Landers and “Dear Abby” columns dealt with parenting issues.
Of course, going way back in antiquity, grandparents have been the biggest and most influential “influencers” in history.
I guess what gets me is not the role, but that obnoxious word. People get their five minutes of fame on the Internet and are declared “influencers” like they are God.
My Catholic parents never told me about Santa. I never believed in him. I was eight or nine before I realized many of the kids around me had or still did believe in Santa. I was amazed.
You’re right. The ‘Sata’ story is part of the Christian/western Christmas tradition.

It’s a dumb word. I’m with you on that. But the concept has been around forever. We’re always looking for advice. And somebody always wants to give it us.
The Bible is either true or it isnt. There can be no in between.
We are talking about a Book that comes to us from a source that SPOKE all things into existence. Buy the premise buy the flick, as the old movie reviewer used to say.
