In the end you're fine with lying to your children so long as it is your kind of lie. People like you is why I walked away from organized religion and have no intention of ever returning. Your efforts to prove to men how righteous you are falls flat.

Sounds to me like your looking for a scape goat to blame for your lack of faith in the One True God.
This has nothing to do with self righteousness.
I myself also have no use for religion. I choose Christianity over religion.
Religion is man’s way to God. Christianity is God’s way for man to unite with Him, by sending His only begotten Son to die on the Cross for the forgiveness of sins.
Religion gave us fables about a flying santa being led by reindeer. And from that one lie begets another lie in order to reinforce the first lie.
Pretty soon Merry Christmas becomes “x-mas” and it’s all about a fable and commercialism. No acceptance for a Manger in the public square because santa has replaced the Lord Jesus.
The world is in the shape its in today because Jesus is rejected by the world. And those who are rejecting Jesus will readily defend a lie about some fat cat in a red suit flying through the air with a team of reindeer. So defend the big lie all you want, but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
