I was disappointed for a while but I got over it in time. Eventually I took it as a part of growing up. Christmas over the years of my life has changed in various ways. It’s still enjoyable and a good way to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

I don't remember when I learned that Santa was fake. But I never thought my parents were liars because of it...most of us public school urchins outside of Philadelphia knew it was something cultural and rolled with it.

However, plenty of public school classmates made fun of other classmates who still believed in Santa. In addition, we all thought that if we keep telling our parents "we believe," we could keep this gift train rolling.

Does this mean "Santa" turns kids into cold, calculating scheming trolls? Maybe. But we never held it against our parents.
