You hit it right away. I think the reason I hate Drummer Boy so much is that so many singers have sung it so it was played repeatedly on a “no repeats” Christmas station played where I used to work. You could have five versions an hour and it would not count as a “repeat”.

That Mariah Carey thing isn’t much better
Any version of “Twelve Days of Christmas.” That is fun to sing but not to listen to. Kind of like “100 Bottles of Beer” or “Row, Row, Row Your Boat.” Who wants to listen to those?
Any version of “Last Christmas, I Have You My Heart.”. If someone gave my heart away, I would want to know who got it. That sounds a lot more productive and interesting than crying and moaning about it.
Springsteen’s “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” an atrocity that I haven’t heard this year, even though my wife has that Lite FM station on a lot and they have been playing Christmas music since Halloween. Thank you, Lite FM.

I hate all of the ones that are actually against everything that Christ’s birth represents, but there are so many. “Santa Baby”, “Baby It’s Cold Outside”, “Last Christmas”, and that wretched Mariah Carey song... I think Madonna’s Santa Baby is the worst.

She sings it with a lisp and in a “little girl” voice that makes it just creepy. The lyrics make it clear it’s supposed to be an adult woman singing to Santa, as in Eartha Kitt’s sultry version.
