The Mall of America has confidentially settled a lawsuit with the family of a five-year-old boy who was tossed off a third-floor balcony by a man who claimed he was 'looking for someone to kill'.

No he was tossed off a third-floor balcony by a spineless piece of fecal matter. Not a hate crime though.
What possible responsibility could they have had?!

I’d have to know more of this story but why would the Mall be responsible for a crime a man had done. Unless he was an employee this sounds like the parents went after a payout.
Why in God’s name did we ever intervene in Somalia in the first place? And then bring these people here. It’s mind-boggling these people have all the intelligence of stale bread.
Because the man didn’t have any money.
Seems the justice system is more to blame than the mall.
premises liability should have paid a lot of these medical bills. It doesn’t require fault.

Lawyers are scary and it’s less expensive to settle.
Probably should leave the parents out of the discussion. Focus on the society that would create the situation where this would occur. This is the Twin Cities the home of George Floyd and Ilhan Omar. When I was a kid I could go to a mall and not get tossed off a balcony. The parents may need help with medical care. I would never think to question their actions.
The article does explain that. The attacker was well known to mall security.
They perp was a trouble-maker and head-case who had been ejected from the mall by security in the past, and who was known to the mall security for harrassment and stalking of women.
Somehow, he was still prowling about the mall they day he tossed the kid over the railing.
The Democrats did it to get a voting block.
No other reason.

His parents were quoted as saying his recovery was a “miracle,” so that give some hope at least.
Diversity is wonderful. Let’s just let people from the worst parts of the world into our country and set them loose in our malls. Only a racist would have a problem with that.
The parents probably need money for the child’s care and obviously the creep who did this is not going to be able to pay them. So they’re probably suing the mall because there may have been a security failure … that is, either none at all, or they’d let a lunatic wander around threatening people, etc.
I don’t think it’s a bad thing for them to sue. It might make companies realize that they have to be more careful about security.
These Sammies are only here waiting for their “reparations”.
