Hi @BedBathBeyond: why are you not only carrying this seditionist's product in your stores, but also giving him a large wall display? Do you support Martial Law and insurrection?

In response, many conservatives boycotted Bed, Bath & Beyond — and bought their bedding from MyPillow.com using promo code FEDUP directly instead (100 Percent Fed Up benefits when you use that code).

Now, this: Suppliers to Bed, Bath & Beyond are worried Bed, Bath & Beyond won’t pay them back.
Bloomberg reports:
Take Dbest Products Inc., which has been selling its rolling carts to Bed Bath & Beyond for more than a decade. In early September, the company, for the first time, asked Bed Bath & Beyond to pay upfront for its products. “We requested to alter our payment terms to payment in advance, and they said no — politely,” Dbest Products Chief Executive Officer Richard Elden said. He says he previously sold around “six figures” worth of wholesale products to Bed Bath & Beyond annually…
Similarly, Lauren Greenwood, president of kitchen storage and organization company YouCopia, said she recently stopped shipping her merchandise to Bed Bath & Beyond after more than 10 years. “There is considerable financial risk,” Greenwood said. “We’re wishing them well. We’ll see if that means getting back into stores — or waiting from the sidelines to see if they can pull it off.”
The head of a company that had supplied $15 million to $20 million of wholesale merchandise to Bed Bath & Beyond annually in recent years said he had stopped shipping his products to the retailer in August. He asked not to be named to avoid jeopardizing his relationship with the company. The supplier said Bed Bath & Beyond hasn’t agreed to provide him with an additional financial guarantee he requested, called a letter of credit.

Bed, Bath & Beyond could have worked with MyPillow – but canceled them instead.
Big mistake!

The fallout from MyPillow was the final straw. BB&B was on its way out anyway. This *might* have accelerated their demise slightly.
I wish this was the reason but it’s not BB&B was not done in by dropping Mike. Walmart did it a couple of months ago and it won’t hurt them at all.
This is control by hitting where a person gives all to not surrender.. folks, its communism!!!!!
I never get tired of hearing about woke companies getting cancelled. I’m hoping Disney suffers a similar fate.
yeah.. not a smart move to piss off 80% of your customer base.
bye
bed bath and beyond!
BB&B was the ultimate Amazon showroom. Other than $5 knick knack items, I largely used it to look at the item and then check Amazon for it’s price while standing in the store.
My daughter was asked to do an interview of a candidate for air. Station..no
I don’t typically boycott companies, Gillette and Dick’s being exceptions, but when I make buying decisions, a company’s overt political position affects my decision. For example, if I’m hungry for cookies and I’m comparing brands in the aisle, I am less likely to pick rainbow Oreos over something else. I think other buyers act the same. It’s not that they won’t buy “rainbow” products, but they are more likely to pick something else.
As an investor, this upsets me as wokeness affects a company’s bottom line—get woke go broke for example—and is contrary to good business. I don’t invest to lose money on ESG. I dare say most other investors are the same.
Look at a price chart of bbby. This company is headed for zero in my humble opinion.
Bingo! And it was the same for Borders back when Amazon was still primarily known as on online bookstore. Which is why Borders is now a fond but distant memory…
My Pillow sales probably would have kept the place running a few more months but wasn’t the reason why it went downhill.
The problem was, the store was redundant, other stores sell the same crap or can get it on Amazon, Etcy, Ebay or where ever for less.
The reason suppliers are not shipping to BBB is because they are not paying their bills and the suppliers know they are not ever going to get paid on the outstanding invoices, so they are cutting their losses and stop shipping anything to them.
My Pillow has nothing to do with that
What’s Bed, Bath & Beyond, besides a failing chain? Go woke, go broke.

“It’s not that they won’t buy “rainbow” products...”
I won’t and don’t.
And no one would buy anything without a 20% off coupon.
By the end of 2023
