Representatives for Jimmy Buffett announced that he must cancel the rest of his 2022 tour dates per “doctors orders” after a “brief hospitalization” for health issues that were not shared.
In a message posted on social media Tuesday, the 75-year-old rocker posted a statement indicating Buffett’s “Life on the Flipside-Redux” tour would be cut short.
“Due to health issues and brief hospitalization, Jimmy will need to refrain from touring for the rest of the year,” the statement read. “On doctor’s orders, he must take this time to recuperate and heal.”
“Jimmy looks forward to getting back on stage next year,” the message added.
“We appreciate your understanding,” it continued. “Fans with tickets to the rescheduled dates are encouraged to hold on to your tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled shows in 2023….”
The tour dates affected are all in October, including shows in Las Vegas, San Diego, and Idaho. Most of the dates have been rescheduled for next year. Details can be seen here.
Buffett has been performing with his Coral Reefer Band for years as he’s crossed the country performing his music along with other songs across genres, Rolling Stone magazine noted.
The “Margaritaville” hitmaker’s latest tour is named after his album, “Life on the Flipside.” It came out in 2020 and, at the time, was his first in the last seven years.
That same year, Buffett spoke to the outlet about how to “live like it’s your last day,” the name of his latest song.
“When you’ve had a couple of close calls — an airplane crash, a stage dive — you think you’re probably living on borrowed time,” the superstar singer shared. “So I kind of do choose to live like it’s my last day.”
“You never know,” he added. “At 73, you’re losing a lot of friends, and it’s a constant progression towards … y’know, what’s there. Everybody goes at some point.”
Later, he was asked how he would like to be remembered. Buffet said he would like to be known as the guy who “had a good time and made a lot of people happy.”
Parrotheads.......they are a dedicated lot.
Not sure if I should put Jimmy on my 2022 or 2023 Dead Pool list. Maybe this year since he has most likely taken the Clot Shot(tm).

I’m pretty sure that’s safe to say
I see he is optimistic about 2023. 🙂
Apparently dedicated enough for Sirius XM to have a full-time Radio Margaritaville Channel.
That’s cool, I didn’t know his sister got in on the empire too!
Not a fan of Buffet. But lots of people love him for whatever reason. I just want to know if he is going to Cuba to get that great socialized medicine he always preaches about.
I never liked any of it, from day one.
I have been to a bunch of free for me Buffet concerts here in MA.
what I hated the most was when the the concert actually started and the tailgating ended.
Buffet is a tool..
I actually went to a Buffet concert back in his heyday. Wasn’t impressed. The guy needs to shut up and get a singer.]
Buffet’s an American success story. A kid from Mississippi (my home state) that created his own musical genre and doesn’t take himself too seriously. He made a lot of people happy along the way and despite what the grumpier people on this forum say, there are a LOT of people that love his music.
One of my favorite songs, too. And his book, A Pirate Looks at Fifty, was great, too.
With a net worth somewhere around $700 million, he’s done alright for himself.

A Pirate Looks at 40 and background:
I stayed at the Margaritaville Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
Most people are singing along anyway so they don't even hear him.
My condolences.
Was the hotel restaurant Hawaiian Shirt optional?
“I used to service his Jeeps when he was at home in his Peirmont, NY location during the late 80’s. One of the most gracious people I’ve ever met.”
I serviced his plane at John Tune airport in Nashville and he and his passengers were rude as shit.
Thanks for posting that
