Representatives for Jimmy Buffett announced that he must cancel the rest of his 2022 tour dates per “doctors orders” after a “brief hospitalization” for health issues that were not shared.
In a message posted on social media Tuesday, the 75-year-old rocker posted a statement indicating Buffett’s “Life on the Flipside-Redux” tour would be cut short.
“Due to health issues and brief hospitalization, Jimmy will need to refrain from touring for the rest of the year,” the statement read. “On doctor’s orders, he must take this time to recuperate and heal.”
“Jimmy looks forward to getting back on stage next year,” the message added.
“We appreciate your understanding,” it continued. “Fans with tickets to the rescheduled dates are encouraged to hold on to your tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled shows in 2023….”
The tour dates affected are all in October, including shows in Las Vegas, San Diego, and Idaho. Most of the dates have been rescheduled for next year. Details can be seen here.
Buffett has been performing with his Coral Reefer Band for years as he’s crossed the country performing his music along with other songs across genres, Rolling Stone magazine noted.
The “Margaritaville” hitmaker’s latest tour is named after his album, “Life on the Flipside.” It came out in 2020 and, at the time, was his first in the last seven years.
That same year, Buffett spoke to the outlet about how to “live like it’s your last day,” the name of his latest song.
“When you’ve had a couple of close calls — an airplane crash, a stage dive — you think you’re probably living on borrowed time,” the superstar singer shared. “So I kind of do choose to live like it’s my last day.”
“You never know,” he added. “At 73, you’re losing a lot of friends, and it’s a constant progression towards … y’know, what’s there. Everybody goes at some point.”
Later, he was asked how he would like to be remembered. Buffet said he would like to be known as the guy who “had a good time and made a lot of people happy.”
vaxx status?
But there’s booze in the blender.
I used to service his Jeeps when he was at home in his Peirmont, NY location during the late 80’s. One of the most gracious people I’ve ever met. Gave the whole shop tickets to a Jones Beach show he was doing. Always a smile on his face.
His female groupies were always hotties too. :-)
Most performers have been jabbed, as most US and foreign venues required it, over the past year and a half.
🤷♀️
A Pirate Looks at Forty was written specifically for me. At least that’s how I look at it.
There are only two groups that I have seen 5 times: Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jimmy Buffett. Favorite Buffett songs: A Pirate Looks at Forty and Death of an Unpopular Poet.
God’s own drunk and fearless man
He should have done that 25 yrs ago. I don’t know anyone that still likes his crap.
Incredible business man - parlayed his single Top-10 hit over forty years ago into a net worth of more than half a billion.
Get well, Jimmy.
Stand Up Comedy -Dusty Slay does a full breakdown on It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere
His sister does well too....................
Nothing to plunder, another over 40 victim of fate.
And I was working so hard on my Pirate Arrrg!
Considering he was a touring entertainer, I would guess he got the jab to continue performing.
Maybe he can tour with Katie Couric and they can sing a duet about their health problems
You need to get out more.
Parrot Heads everywhere are deeply saddened...
It’s 5 o’clock all the time now.
And it’s Margaritaville everywhere.
