EU as a whole already has a sufficient overcapacity of LNG terminals inside the Union to replace about 60% of Russian gas immediately, without new facilities or doing anything at all, just using existing infrastructure to the fullest potential. More terminals can (and likely will) be built in a year or two, ending European reliance on Russia forever.
Europe has an overcapacity of LPG terminals. The EU can import all the gas it needs by ship from Algeria, Arabia, USA, Canada or whereever and not recieve a single drop from Russia. The problem is the LPG terminals are quite far from (mostly) German industries and it is expensive to move gas long distances by rail. It can be done, we have all the equipment we need for that as well, it just increases the price and makes your industry uncompetitive.
This is the real issue behind Russian economic war against their best customers. German industries will have to adapt, have their company holidays in mid-winter instead of summer as Germans like it, reduce production perhaps. German homes will likely be asked to use less gas for their needs as well and it will be more expensive than what everyone is used to.
Ever since 2009, Russian propaganda has been screaming, that Ukraine would freeze and starve, because they absolutely can not survive without Russian gas. That’s been almost their mantra.
Lo and behold, winter went by, next summer came, and Ukraine was doing just fine. So, did the Russian propaganda trolls abandon their obviously wrong claim? Not a chance, towards the autumn, they again started their Ukraine will freeze without Russian gas campaign, even though evidence from 2009 showed, that Ukraine does just fine without Russian gas.
From 2009 to 2021, every year the same old story, Ukraine will freeze, Ukraine will turn into one huge glacier, Ukrainians will be trapped in huge blocks of ice, if Russians withhold their gas.
The only thing Russias did different in 2022 is, they included the rest of Europe into their empty threats. Now they are saying Ukraine will freeze, Poland will freeze, Finland will freeze, Germany will freeze, etc. It is all utter BS, it is an old Kremlin propaganda lie, that has been disproven over and over again,

Tell me crank, why do you post a link to NYT after ranting against the NYT?
Sorry for my late response, was out collecting firewood.
I linked the NYT article simply to show a few things that you pro-Ukrainian propaganda peddlers deny and how better to do it then with a West/EU/UK/US/NATO propaganda ridden source. You know sh*t is bad when your own propaganda ridden sources are acknowledging such.......
