I know this has probably been going on a long time. Bu I have a problem with the concept. And everyone should.
I just ordered $1000 worth of tires. The shipper sent them free shipping. They use FedEx as contracted.
Long story short, after two weeks of chasing hese down o make sure they actually and finally get to me something happened that bothered me greatly.
The shipper sent them as "signature required". Bu when they finally showed up I asked the delivery guy if he needed a signature. He told me that no he did not because he already applied "signature on file".
I asked him... How do you know it is at the right address and the right person? He told me "doesn't matter, I signed for you and you received them".
But how do you know I am being honest about who I am?
"Doesn't matter, they were delivered".
Personally I am going to make sure they remove my signature from "on file". If they had delivered these to a wrong address and person I would have been out $1000 bucks and would have had to fight with possibly even a lawsuit to get justification.
I strongly suggest addressing this "on file" issue with any and all delivery services you use. No... unless I sign for each and every delivery then it didn't happen.
Same here. I get my pharma from Illinois shipped to Indiana via USPS and they’re doing a surprisingly good job with it. Generally next day delivery.
“In May I had a tire delivery show status of delivered...no tires in sight. Shipper immediately sent another shipment which finally arrived 3 days past the new promised delivery date. FedEx has screwed up every shipment to me this year.”
Same here... Nothing has been delivered correctly the last two years to us here. You were lucky they reshipped, they could have said “well you signed for them, FedEx says so”.
And this is the whole point about this very insecure practice I am sharing.
I had a set of nice wrenches that was sent usps
I waited for them, but no wrenches eventually I checked the website, delivered 30 min ago.
I drove around looking for mr postman found 2 other ones who said they would help.
Eventually they found the substitute guy who misdilivered and made him go back and get my wrenches.
He apologized and said he was dyslexic..
That's your choice but don't post a vanity here complaining how every time a delivery to your house is made and you were not home and you had to call the delivery agent to arrange for another delivery date..and hope you were home at that new date and time to sign for it.

And they wonder why their stocks are crashing...
How about customer service? Nope... like all current corporations. The customer is always wrong and they never make mistakes.
Sounds like government...
It is against the law to electronically forge anyone’s signature.

I have friends who sell on Ebay and Amazon. On the receiving end, it wont matter because most of the time, the delivery guy is an idiot.
I do not sigh for drugs I the post office but do with FedEx.
FedEx is run by Indians now. And we should expect it to run like a company in India for the foreseeable future.
Same in Tennessee...
“complaining how every time a delivery to your house is made and you were not home and you had to call the delivery agent to arrange for another delivery date..and hope you were home at that new date and time to sign for it.”
I was home with the door open in the hot Az desert burning up waiting to see the truck coming for 2 weeks because I could not go anywhere because I needed the tires before I could go anywhere.
I am now down to beans and rice...
How about you get the whole the whole story before spouting off assumptions you have absolutely no clue about.
Who the hell are you? I see you do this BS a whole lot? You own stock in FedEx or did you retire from them?
The “signature on file” button doesn’t necessarily mean they have your signature on file. That’s just their driver being lazy. Not much you can do about that, other than complain about the driver.
A few weeks ago I got an Amazon order. I noticed on the online ‘delivered’ that is was ‘hand delivered to recipient’. It was left on my doorstep.
Last week I noticed a big Amazon box sitting on my doorstep. I didn’t have any outstanding orders. My addy is 2014; it was addressed to 2114.
Amazon orders used to ‘finish’ their deliveries through the postal service. Now Amazon has their own delivery service in the area and it has been pathetic, so far.

I \have a problem with the concpet of having my “signature on file” ANYWHERE FOR ANY REASON.
In the current days of hacked data information who would? Why would they?
Sorry to hear that, may I make a suggestion to help you out with your constant diet of rice and beans??
Thanks. I needed a laugh today.
