Last night’s posted scene was even more beautiful in light of the 100-105 degree temps OK will have over the next several days. Have been leaving the sprinklers on at sundown for the last several days — something I usually never do — to cut down on the risk of fires from the neighbors’ fireworks falling in my yard. If even one spark is still live when the debris hits the bone-dry grass . . . well, I don’t want to think about it.

Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz has introduced a bill to disarm the Internal Revenue Service.
Along with fellow Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Jeff Duncan (S.C.), and Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Gaetz is pushing the "Disarm the IRS Act," which would prohibit the IRS from acquiring (by purchase or otherwise) any ammunition.
The bill arrives following Gaetz's discovery that this year alone the IRS has spent $725,000 on ammunition. Odd timing, he says, considering the nationwide shortage of ammo and Biden administration's stated animosity toward gun rights.
"Here's the Biden plan: Disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons – but rest assured, they'll still collect your taxes, and they need $725,000 worth of ammunition, apparently, to get the job done," said Gaetz on a recent episode of Fox News' 'Jesse Watters Primetime.'
The strategy, said Gaetz, is disconcerting because it reflects an attempt by the administration to scoop up all the ammo "they can possibly find," while attempting to limit access to ammunition for everyday Americans.

I always hear this, but on the face of it it belies credulity. There is a huge cost in permitting and then maintaining large underground tanks. Beer and bags of normie feed aren’t gonna keep up with that. It’s more reasonable to assume they at the least break even which would indicate that they make at least 10% gross on the product.
I’ve noted this is a common trope among horse boarding facilities (“we never make any money on this op”). Now, this could be true across a lot of stuff if it’s part of an overall tax reduction strategy, but no one is going in a million plus (or in to debt) on a gas station or hay burner facility to earn sub inflation returns without a strategy behind it…
