Ukraine’s in trouble! Russia must be beaten back!
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
Yes I believe that defeat is inevitable, I also believe Russia has to be paying a large price for taking Ukraine, lots of expenses in manpower and military hardware that they cannot easily replace.
The EU will have to build up a military and NATO will have to build up theirs.
There is no escaping an arms race at this point because incompetent politics have led the world to this point on both sides.
neoCONs are always working on another CON.
I’m sure Lez Cheney, and the Bush family agree with Levin on this.
And here comes another Fox Conservative, belching out nonsense in an effort to out patriot and out Christian everyone else. Stick your war, and stick your foreign policy disasters where the sun doesn't shine. No more war from idiots like Levin and you.
Russia has historically always been a conquering nation. What makes you think Putin is any different from the historical trend of Russian politics?
Please permit me to add something to my post #60.
I sure could be wrong about Putin’s intentions. But it’s up to the EU to sort it out. We shouldn’t get involved until we have to get involved.
In a way it pains me to have to say that. As I noted earlier, Russia is certainly in the wrong here. But we cannot be the world’s Big Daddy forever. Europe must do all the heavy lifting on this one.
F*** them. The globalist propagandists reeled these people in hook, line and sinker. Who cares what gullible fools think? Watch them double down with more lurid tales. Have a good chuckle.
REMFs.
The communists won the day they shouted down Senator McCarthy and the MSM went along with it.
This is high stakes gambling. The cost of getting it wrong will be horrendous. Bogging down Russia in Ukraine is hedging our bets. It’s terrible for the Ukrainians but losing will be as well. Their country will slowly die, especially if they lose their coastline. It’s a terrible situation. But as long as Ukraine is willing to do the heavy lifting, then the West profits by having the fight there instead of further west.
What we don’t know is the state of the rest of the Russian Federation. Perhaps they will begin to break apart. It may be that the Russians at the front will break as the individual soldiers must be poorly motivated knowing that if they were contractors, they’d at least get decent pay. Russia is offering to make Ukrainians who surrender rich. That must piss off the Russian soldiers as well.
There are a lot of unknowns and unknowable’s. But the longer the conflict goes on the weaker Russia gets.
Here is an interesting take on how the rot in Russia may affect their chances of victory.

> What makes you think Putin is any different from the historical trend of Russian politics? <
Good question. I don’t think he’s any different. Putin truly is a war criminal. But he’s constrained by reality. Stalin could, and did, take over Poland and then Germany all the way to the Elbe River. But it’s not 1945 any more. Putin’s army is nothing compared to Stalin’s formidable Red Army.
But maybe I’m wrong. Maybe the US must intervene. If so, not now. And let the EU do all the heavy lifting, as I mentioned in my post #65.
Russians aren’t invading , those are undocumented workers ! Open Borders 4 Ukraine !
Keep in mind that the news and fake news business like FOX and other MSM, war, shootings at schools, hurricanes. tornados, elections and fake elections are all really good for business. They love bad news and promote it.
What is Levin’s excuse? He is a neocon, always has been. He may love America, but he sure doessn’t love it’s people. Even the ones who support him.
Still posting that lie about Russia purchasing Crimea I see. Nice maps though. Would be even better if you got some new material.
“...bunch of limp wristed Liberaltarians and vile know-nothing Putinists on FR.... the cessation of all support of Ukraine for the same reasons our freaks and creeps on this website do.”
All of your ad hominems aside fellow FReeper, your position seems to be that a totalitarian regime cannot rape, murder and dominate another country without resistance. Is this a value shared by all freedom loving nations? Why is Xiden given a pass by the politicians, NATO members, the media and intelligentsia to “lead”, to set the stage that this an issue of international concern ... to run this through the UN like HW and then W had to do in the Middle East and Afghanistan - instead of making this look like the US vs Russia? Terrorism was a common enemy, why isn’t a totalitarian regime invading another country?
What Putin wants and what Putin can do are two different things
He does want the old USSR. He is first last and always a communist
Don’t kid yourself
Good post, the western backed coup of 2014 set this whole disaster in motion. The civil war in the Donbas. NATO arms build up. The Russian paranoia about western invasion through Ukraine. All of it. The same week Russia invaded, Harris was in Ukraine talking them up about being a member of NATO. No effort to defuse situation. Be really hard to convince me the Globalists didn’t want this war, and my enemy is the Globalists. Do feel awful for the Ukrainian people.
No. Putin is and always will be a communist. Don’t be delusional
I find that I can no longer share your nostalgic view of NATO. East Germany is within the current NATO, supposedly defending other NATO countries against Russia using rusty, old GDR weapons that probably use Soviet parts. NATO is an institution trying to survive the loss of its reason for existence.
Your analysis does not include the Wuhan lab or the involvement of Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, in the Ukraine under the guise of NATO expansion. These “extracurricular activities” have more bearing on the current situation than NATO’s historical roll, in my view.

Excellent comment. France and the UK got it wrong when they got involved in the Serbian crisis of 1914. By not staying out of it, they helped spark WW 1.
France and the UK got it wrong again when they DIDN’T get involved during Hitler’s 1936 occupation of the Rhineland. By staying out of it, they helped spark WW 2.
As you noted, making the wrong decision can be disastrous. I just wish Trump were calling the shots here instead of that fool Biden.
Just say “no” to the flood of aid.
