Too many woke companies to boycott. Razors for one---what is your alternative?

This is about 6 months old but I just found out about it! Now I need a new razor company because DSC is also woke and gave $100K to BLM. Is Solimo (Amazon) woke?

On Tuesday, The Daily Wire announced the launch of “Jeremy’s Razors,” which is “more than a men’s grooming line. Jeremy’s Razors is a message to woke corporations that hate half the country, but love to take their money: your customers have the power to choose, and they’re not afraid to do so.”

Backed by a multi-million dollar advertising campaign, the company released its first Jeremy’s Razors ad on Tuesday morning which features the McLaren-driving “god-king,” Jeremy Boreing, walking through The Daily Wire’s headquarters and torching a pack of Harry’s Razors, a razor company which cut advertising ties and publicly slammed The Daily Wire in 2021 due to “inexcusable” views on gender.

I recently got a Dollar Shave Club razor and am quite pleased.

I’m not sure of their politics, but I seem to recall hearing their ads on the Hannity radio show.

I tried Harry’s after hearing ads on Levin, but the handle was so slippery when it’s wet I could hardly use it.

I’ve gone back to safety razors. Cheaper and they honestly do a better job.

I use an electric Wahls razor. I put a #2 attachment on it and shave my beard and head evenly as I can. I have my wife inspect my job and follow her tips on evening it out. I’ve more than paid for the razor but the most important to me is Gillette doesn’t get one dime of my toxic masculine money.

My Dad was traveling quite a bit before covid hit. He gave me about 30 hotel razors that I threw out.

Note to Jeremy’s Razors: If you do another ad, to make perfect put cats in it. All the best ads (EDS, Cravendale) have cats!

Posted a similar comment the other day on another thread, but here are more details...

Merkur adjustable safety razor. Make sure you buy the adjustable type!

https://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Progress-Adjustable-Safety-Razor/dp/B004NAEP6I/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?keywords=merkur+razors&qid=1648654167&sr=8-10

Merkur blades. Hold their edge longer than others I’ve tried
https://shavenation.com/products/merkur-de-blades-100-count

I bought about 4 of those packages from a local barber shop when it only cost $10/100 count. Boy have times changed and now that I see the current price,I just bought a sleeve of 100. They’re not going to get less expensive.

Be sure to buy;
Boar’s hair brush
Shave mug (wide, low coffee mug will do)
Stand for razor and brush, because brush must hang dry, bristles down, or you’ll ruin the brush fast. Also, after each use, rinse and wipe dry the razor and blade, so blade lasts longer.

Warm your face to soften beard.
Hot water on brush and lather up.
For extra close shave, repeat lather/shave.
You WILL get a close shave!
Try not to cut your own throat by side slipping the blade when shaving. Straight 1-1.5” strokes as a time, being mindful of the angle you hold the razor. Best to do this without water running because you can hear the cut better to determine the proper angle of the razor.

Those who complain that this is not a close shave are either holding the razor at a poor angle, their razor is a cheap non-adjustable type (the quality of the razor makes ALL the difference!), rushing through the process, or using dull blades.

For the razor above there is a line on the top cap and an arrow on the base handle, which must line up. The top portion will fit on the lower in either direction, but it is made to precision and these two must be aligned. Then tighten the top cap and blade down by turning adjustment at the base until stop. This puts a slight bend on the blade. Then loosen to your desired aggressiveness. It is calibrated 1-5. My setting is to open past 5, then to 1 again. The more you loosen, the more you straighten the blade & the more you open and expose the blade, the more aggressive the cut and the more dangerous the potential for error.

Thank you in advance for not sending medical bills to me for the sutures =o)

...that is all

Mug, dish, brush, and safety razor for me, with a Remington electric for finishing touches. You can get good-quality Personna blades in packages of 100 on Ebay. A hundred blades lasts for many years; I get between 10 & 20 shaves on a blade.

If you do the dish and mug method (soap stays in the dish and you mix the lather in the mug), a cake of shaving soap will last 6 months or more.

If you have hard water, though, this plan won't work very well.
