May be double that......................
I really dont believe it. Either way. I don’t think anyone really knows.
I’m team Ukraine but find it hard to root for Russian casualties. Most of them are young conscripts.
Rather high killed to wounded ratio.
Hitler invaded France 10 May – 25 June 1940. People were AMAZED that he conquered France in just over a month.
27,000 dead Germans.
111,000 wounded Germans.
Everyone at the time knew that this was a stunning German success.
What’s that? Russia has lost almost 10,000 while conquering Ukraine? [shrug] They’ve seen worse.
So, they are reporting about 6k dead and 16k wounded, which is probably an underestimate when you consider their vehicle losses. They don’t mention captured. Let’s just say, because it’s Russian source, that it’s twice that, or about 33k Kia or wounded, and throw in another 10k deserted or captured. That’s 43k of 200k troops. Or about 20-25% loss.
They say modern armies become combat ineffective at 40-60% loss rate. The next few weeks could be critical for the Russians.
Gathering in large groups and slowing advancing towards a city isn’t exactly the best military strategy... In this war, or any war. I.E. Sitting ducks make for easy targets.
.
This is genocide of his own people.
A war criminal against his own country.
What a guy, huh?
Greg Gutfeld has the right take for Americans about this war.
This war would not have happened if the Democrats hadn’t cheated and put Biden in office.
Lay this misery and destruction on them.
The current version of the article has deleted those paragraphs.
The Russians lost 19,000 dead PER DAY in the Battle of Stalingrad in late 1942 and early 1943. The Soviet Army saw more than a million killed during that terrible battle.
The Soviets lost about 200,000 dead taking Berlin in the final days of World War II but THEY PREVAILED.
Nobody can be sure of the casualties in this present war but Russians obviously don’t give up easily.
Uh oh! Don’t let NorseViking see that!
Good!
I hope that number only increases as the day, weeks and months go by.
Well Russia’s military doctrine has never been like America’s which emphasizes surgical strikes and minimizing civilian and military casualties. Russia’s military doctrine since World War II and later in Afghanistan was basically just keep throwing waves of cannon fodder ground troops and indiscriminate artillery barrages at the enemy and eventually there will be nothing left for them to defend and they’ll give up. Which is exactly the strategy they are employing again in Ukraine.
The more reliable numbers put Russian deaths at between 11,000-14,000. And if historic ratios hold true - multiply that by 3X to get the number wounded. A startling number, to say the least.
Is that like the National Enquirer?
Quick math - that’s greater than 10% casualty rate. Don’t see how any army can continue with losses like that for long.
But the mission is/was successful.
As it turns out the Russian army has been grossly over estimated.
