RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) - Researchers at Duke want to know if taking more ivermectin for longer will work better as a COVID-19 treatment.
A study that is testing three repurposed medications as COVID treatments is expanding to evaluate the polarizing anti-parasitic drug ivermectin at a higher dose for a longer period of time.
Dr. Adrian Hernandez, the executive director of the Duke Clinical Research Institute and the study’s administrative principal investigator, said modeling studies, published research and community interest “support investigating multiple doses and durations of ivermectin.”
“This expansion will provide valuable data on the role of ivermectin and whether it can help people with mild-to-moderate symptoms of COVID-19 prevent worsening of the disease,” he said.
Hernandez and other researchers at Duke are leading the national ACTIV-6 study that is testing how effective ivermectin and two other common drugs are against mild to moderate cases of COVID.
They are increasing the size of the dose by 50 percent and doubling the length of time, from three days to six.
The new dose - 600 micrograms per kilogram of body weight - is four times as much as the usual dose for treating river blindness in teenagers and adults, and three times the usual dose for a type of roundworm infection, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Embarrassing to say it took them 18 months to conduct this test/study. On the flip side, I would imagine they did this already a year ago, and know precisely what the results will be.
It's always been about control.
The trouble is that it's been killing and damaging our young all across this world. They've been dying under the mask mandates and suic*ding.
Ormicron was a Bust.
It's time for this Farce to Stop.
And for something like this to take more proof than a bunch in the UK to say it would be worse by maginitudes than it already was.
The governments knew it was not going to be that bad and they went overboard anyway. Probably to test their emergency protocols for an engineered virus. But the protocols went overboard and the promise to end the protocols when the curve flattened turned out to be a LIE. A BIG LIE.
We need to reform the protocols which let these policies go overboard be REVAMPED SO THAT THIS IS NOT LIKELY FROM SUCH LOW RATES TO EVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
Killing the Children is a bad idea Fools!
FLCCC is an organization of top real experts on treatment of Covid. Their current protocol at flccc.net includes 0.6 mg/kg (600mcg/kg) of Ivermectin per day for 5 days or until recovered.
So this new study might be legit and not designed to fail.
“Don’t take that stuff! It’s horse de-wormer!”
“Well, what if I take a larger dose? For a longer time?”
“Oh. That’s different. That’s good. That’s smart. Yeah, follow the science. We have the data on that protocol, so it’s fine.”
600mcg =.6mg.
So, the dosage is right.
Why wasn't this done more than a year ago, when Dr Kory testified before the Senate?
There are many studies that conclude ivermectin as a viable treatment option. They just don’t talk about them.

Are they going to use it in conjunction with zinc?
Got IVM prescribed from a doctor with American Frontline Doctors. Took the prescribed amount on day two of covid symptoms. Felt better 75% better the next day. So my story is it worked and worked well.
The testing is redundant.
Testing was done in 2020 and showed that if Ivermectin had been utilized at beginning of alleged ‘pandemic,’ this country would have been long past such and a near million people would not had had to die from COVID, etc.
They must know Covid is done if they are finally testing therapies.
Same story and outcome for a close friend of mine.
This is designed to fail. They cannot determine any treatment is effective outside of the jab. The authority of government science will be eliminated if this trial shows Ivermectin is effective. Nearly ALL deaths would be at the feet of government”science” given they specifically rejected even emergency end of life use.
Its not redundant. Its how the medical community operates. See the vitamin C controversy

There is a phenomenon the Gina Norris brought to the forefront concerning gadolinium toxicity. It will take 50 years before they loop back around and admit it is a problem for people with normal kidneys. right now Drs will tell you it is suppose to leave your body in 96 hours but if you have proof that it didnt then then excuse is we dont have studies to show it is a problem to have that heavy metal in your body.
Ivermectin is NOT 'polarizing'. It is an inanimate compound, totally incapable of emotion. It is the Leftist bureaucrats doing the polarizing. They simply hate it because it destroys their agenda because it is an effective treatment for COVID.
I caught Covid (second time) about 6 weeks ago. My wife found an America Frontline doctor about a half hour's drive from where we live. I was sick as a dog, lost 30 pounds in the week before I saw him.
He prescribed IVM and HCQ, and two other meds. I was back at work the following week, though still fairly weak. No problem, I'm an accountant.I've gained half of the weight back, though I'd like to stay in that range.

And if the results don’t support the treatment will that end it? No. Some around here won’t trust anything that doesn’t support their opinions.
Not really. According to a lot of folks here COVID is just a cold. So the IVM may have done nothing according to most opinions.
