Sacrebleu! French brewers use algae to make blue beer
Rueters ^ | Ardee Napolitano

The beer, with the brand name "Line", is the result of a tie-up between a firm that wants to popularise the algae as a dietary supplement, and a nearby craft brewery that was looking for a way to make its beverages more distinctive.

The blue tint comes from spirulina, an algae that is grown in basins by a company called Etika Spirulina in northern France. The component of the spirulina that gives the blue colour, called phycocyanin, is then added to the beer during the brewing process.

Tasting a freshly produced bottle of the beer, brewery employee Mathilde Vanmansart described it as hoppy, light, and with fruity notes, while the only evidence of the added algae was the distinctive colour.

...”described it as hoppy, light, and with fruity notes,”

Everything I hate in a beer.

Peripheral neuropathy? If so, have you tried alpha lipoic acid, acetylcistein, and magnesium? The lipoic acid seemed to help a little for me, but not enough to justify spending money on it really.

Pretty much agree. I tend to like reds though my local brew pub makes a good Mexican Lager that is on the lighter side. But hoppy and or fruity? No thank you. I realize there are lots of hops fans out there, bravo, I raise my glass to you. Fruity? If I wanted lemonade I'd order lemonade...

Artificially turning beer blue (or green, or any other color) with algae or dye or whatever.... Cool trick, but why? Beer should be various shades of amber, red, brown...

This is just giving Germany, with their beer purity laws, another reason to hate the French even more.

I’ll have to try the bark. I know tonic water helps with restless leg and cramps, ill try the tonic water first, see what happens, see if I perceive a difference

i use the powder from Penn Herbs but you can use that actual bark and make tea. I have the bark but have never tried it because supposedly it doesnt taste good

You have to be careful of your liver with all of this so that is why i dont take it every day

Get the bark from Hylands Leg Cramp tablets from Walgreens. Just dissolve under tongue. Much better than tonic water imho.

I have pretty good luck k with Toni. Water- takes the foot and leg cramps away in a few minutes at most, unless I’ve really overdone it that day, and nothing g helps much. But I Wil, pick up those tablets and try them next time. Usually though if I have overworked and think I’m gonna get cramps at night, I’ll swig a little tonic water before bed- seems to stave off impending cramps. The tab,ets soi,d be more convenient though. Could keep them next to bed so I don’t have to jump out of warm bed with foot cramps lol

I found a liquid on Amazon of the bark. Might buy a bottle, and add a little to,the tonic water to make it a bit stronger.
