PHILADELPHIA (TND) - A transgender athlete who competes for the University of Pennsylvania women's swim team may be ineligible to compete for this year's NCAA Championships after a recent rule change from USA Swimming.
Lia Thomas, 22, has already sparked a nationwide conversation about fairness in women's sports after she repeatedly dominated meets. She was born biologically male, and competed for her college's men's team before transitioning.
Thomas has been in compliance with the NCAA's policy for transgender athletes. After taking testosterone suppressants for over a year, Thomas is allowed to compete as a woman.

Three independent medical experts will comprise a "decision-making" panel who will be evaluating transgender athlete eligibility based upon a couple of pieces of evidence. They are, according to USA Swimming's new policy:
"Evidence that the prior physical development of the athlete as a male, as mitigated by any medical intervention, does not give the athlete a competitive advantage over the athlete’s cisgender female competitors."
"Evidence that the concentration of testosterone in the athlete’s serum has been less than 5 nmol/L (as measured by liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry) continuously for a period of at least thirty-six (36) months before the date of application."
If the NCAA follows USA Swimming's policy with no changes, then Thomas will not be able to compete in the NCAA Championship.
Thomas reportedly only began transitioning in May of 2019 and, therefore, has been taking testosterone supplements for roughly 32 months, if that.

If they don’t “support” this they become bigots! It’s that simple. They are painted in to a corner by their own support of this insanity. You either support the “equality” movement or you will be destroyed by it. That is a fact.
In the meantime pick them apart on their insanity. Ask them a question about one of their relatives who is a child. If a 40 year old man wants to “date” and “mate” with your 10 year old child relative would you be opposed to it if they were both agreeable? You know, because “Love is Love”? When they tell you they would kill the 40 year old first. Then ask them why they are a bigot and don’t support “marriage equality.” Call them a bigot for their unreasonable stance on marriage equality. Pedophilia used to be a ludicrous idea but now it is in the realm of the equality movement. The squirming that takes place is fun to watch. They either support pedophiles or they are bigots. Why? Because of their rules. “Marriage Equality” is the name of the game.
In the case of the shemale swimmers… well - now the women folk have to decide together. We either sink or swim together to end the insanity of girls with penises competing in girls swim meets.
Transgender.... a physical impossibility.
There’s a lot of physics in swimming, size of hands and size of feet… hormone therapy does not shrink hand and feet. Even with hormone therapy guys have a huge advantage over women swimmers
Once born male, you’re always male.

Perhaps if the swimming competitions were done in the nude it would be apparent who were women and who were men.
After he’s gone through the puberty surge it doesn’t make much difference how much testosterone is suppressed...the dude has the upper body strength, larger lung capacity, and all the other things that make him a male. End of issue. (Unless, of course, you have attended and/or currently attend college. In that case you’ll buy anything that’s handed you.)
Back in the dark ages when I went to college, there was a thing called "LUGs"—"lesbians until graduation." Now we need a new trope for failed male athletes who say they're women to crash the girls' teams while they're still being funded by Mom and Dad.

Yeah, and all the physical changes that happen to girls at puberty, don’t happen to guys. There is no amount of hormone replacements which can correct that. At this point different hormones only affect surface appearance, nothing more. But hey, we’re talking actual science. The “party of science” prefers their own fake version.
