PHILADELPHIA (TND) - A transgender athlete who competes for the University of Pennsylvania women's swim team may be ineligible to compete for this year's NCAA Championships after a recent rule change from USA Swimming.
Lia Thomas, 22, has already sparked a nationwide conversation about fairness in women's sports after she repeatedly dominated meets. She was born biologically male, and competed for her college's men's team before transitioning.
Thomas has been in compliance with the NCAA's policy for transgender athletes. After taking testosterone suppressants for over a year, Thomas is allowed to compete as a woman.

Three independent medical experts will comprise a "decision-making" panel who will be evaluating transgender athlete eligibility based upon a couple of pieces of evidence. They are, according to USA Swimming's new policy:
"Evidence that the prior physical development of the athlete as a male, as mitigated by any medical intervention, does not give the athlete a competitive advantage over the athlete’s cisgender female competitors."
"Evidence that the concentration of testosterone in the athlete’s serum has been less than 5 nmol/L (as measured by liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry) continuously for a period of at least thirty-six (36) months before the date of application."
If the NCAA follows USA Swimming's policy with no changes, then Thomas will not be able to compete in the NCAA Championship.
Thomas reportedly only began transitioning in May of 2019 and, therefore, has been taking testosterone supplements for roughly 32 months, if that.

I read in another article that this only applies to women’s swimming. I guess they’d have to test that fake man swimmer who beat the fake woman swimmer for testosterone.
Even if he cut off his package and went the full 9, he can change his chromosomes. Can’t transition from that.
There’s more to being male than testosterone. You can’t reverse development that has progressed in the womb or after puberty. Once born male, you’re always male.

If they do allow males to compete the women should withdraw, very publicly. There are many millions who don’t follow sports and many more who get their news from outlets that will refuse to cover this abomination who are unaware it is happening.
When did it affect men? Darned few females pretending to be men have competed in men's sports and won anything.
Maybe you're referring to Title 9? IIRC, that had some effect on funding for some men's collegiate sports. I don't recall any specifics, though.

They should create a category for “It” to allow transgender and other challenged people to compete in and leave male to males and female to female.

i never said the negative effects were identical for men
in the past normal guys took care of the perverts
but got frowned on by the girls

these perverrs go after normal mens kids, their progeny
the dam schools try to encourage normal mens kids to experiment or because the kids are shy or are considered to have some opposite sex traits like being artistic or shy or sensitive for boys, or tomboyish for girls, try to get them to think they might be gay or lesbian
you know many folks kids gave been screwed up by these groups and older pervs screwing around with them, and even when the other spouse (wife) goes nuts and starts letting the boy wear dresses or proclaims the daughter is now a boy or lesbian
read some stories about what dads go through up in canada about this, there was a post on fr here this week about a dad getting arrested because he’s not going along with his kid going trans
the perverts walk around straight guys wothout any fear because now the establishment backs them over normal men in any kind of issue at work or school
these are real negative outcomes for normal straight males

Can the NCAA please define what a woman is?
Were I a female swimmer, I would organize the other bio women. We would attend the meet, assume diving positions and the minute it’s go time, stand and turn our backs against the pool. I do not understand why they are not doing this.
They have put years of effort to win placement on a team. Parents have driven them to practice in the early mornings for years, only to watch them robbed of the opportunity to compete.
Why? Why are they tolerating this?
