RETARDED GRANDPARENTS - (this was actually reported by a teacher) After Christmas, a teacher asked her young pupils how they spent their holiday away from school.
One child wrote the following: We always used to spend the holidays with Grandma and Grandpa .They used to live in a big brick house but Grandpa got retarded and they moved to Batemans Bay where everyone lives in nice little houses, and so they don't have to mow the grass anymore!
They ride around on their bicycles and scooters and wear name tags because they don't know who they are anymore.
They go to a building called a wreck centre, but they must have got it fixed because it is all okay now. They do exercises there, but they don't do them very well.
There is a swimming pool too, but they all jump up and down in it with hats on.
At their gate, there is a doll house with a little old man sitting in it. He watches all day so nobody can escape. Sometimes they sneak out, and go cruising in their golf carts!
Nobody there cooks, they just eat out. And, they eat the same thing every night --- early birds.
Some of the people can't get out past the man in the doll house. The ones who do get out, bring food back to the wrecked centre for pot luck.
My Grandma says that Grandpa worked all his life to earn his retardment and says I should work hard so I can be retarded someday too.
When I earn my retardment, I want to be the man in the doll house. Then I will let people out, so they can visit their grandchildren.
Nice :)
Is thus retirement community humor?
My wife and I must be the only ones to cook around here because we've set the fire alarm off a couple of times. We always get asked "why were you cooking in the first place?"
The community is full of Amazon vans, FedEx, UPS and food delivery trucks.
My parents would bring me to stay with my grandparents over Christmas break. That cemetery was cold.
Love it!
They don’t let you drink in those places.
Not too long ago, the granddaughters stayed over, and I let the little one, who was 4, stay up a little “late”. When she went to say good-night to her sister, the older sister asked why she was up so late, and the little one said, “because Grammy is stupid.” Well, you can bet she’s not stayed up late at our house since then, and I did give her a little speech the next morning about how I was trying to do something nice for her and did not want to be called stupid, and it hurt my feelings..... Luckily, then are very sweet and well behaved, and never give us any trouble.
I’m retarded and I have a golf cart but we don’t live in a retardment home. We live on 8 acres. BTW, I recommend the golf cart highly. We call it a toodle e doo
lol
According to CNN, because of Biden, everyone that can is retarding early
Works best in the south.
This letter describes life perfectly here at Sun City Hilton Head. What it doesn’t say is that there is a significant minority of grannies and grandpas who really hate having kids around. This is especially noticeable at the pools. Kids are allowed at only certain pools on a rotating basis. I’ve seen old women demand that kids leave.
Easy to relate to this. I loved it.
My wife and I have a nice place on the island. Every time we drive by Sun City I think of playing golf there someday. The course looks beautiful.
Well, I’ll be coming down from Chicago after 2/1. I can’t wait. It’s 10 degrees here today.
Wonderful!
That was a strange answer on her part. Good Grammy for stopping the disrespect.
I think they are pretty accustomed to “strict” bedtimes at home. I think she was mainly trying to not have her sister think that SHE had done something wrong in staying up late (as in, “don’t tell Mommy”...”).
Hi twoputt,
How I wish I was a twoputt.
Let me know when you’re coming down. I’ll get us a tee time and play golf with you. The most difficult course is Hidden Cyprus (traps). The most difficult putting is Argent Lakes (executive course with difficult greens) and the easiest is Okatie Creek (short par 4 and 5s, flat and straight). Name your poison. Happy to show you around.
So far we have had a mild winter. To give you proportion, I cancelled playing today because it was cart path only and 59. Conditions too rough for me.
regards
Depending on how rich you are, Sun City is probably the most affordable retirement community down here.
