Asteroid 2021 YQ

The asteroid is about the size of a large commercial airliner (~200 feet) is expected to approach within 1,330,000 miles of Earth on January 5, 2022.

The last time 2021 YQ approached Earth's orbit was on December 7, 1902.

Asteroid 2021 YX

is also expected to approach Earth on January 5, 2022, though it will be a little further at 2,390,000 miles away.

This rock is about 100 feet wide...This asteroid has never approached Earth before...

Asteroid 2014 YE15

This 24-foot wide rock is expected to approach Earth on January 6, 2022, and is about the size of a bus.

Asteroid 2014 YE15 is expected to be the furthest out...around 4,600,000 miles away.

Asteroid 2020 AP1

will come closest to Earth at about 1,080,000 miles away on January 7, 2022.

Though this asteroid will come nearest to Earth, it is thankfully the smallest at 13 feet wide...

Asteroid 2013 YD48

NASA's report concludes with asteroid 2013 YD48, which is expected to approach Earth on January 11, 2022.

This massive rock is 340 feet tall (The famous London clock tower Big Ben is about 315 feet tall) and will come within 3,480,000 miles of Earth.

The last time this object approached Earth was in March 2014.

It is expected to orbit back around towards Earth in 2030.

It wasn’t Glenn Close, it was Meryl Streep...even better.

Okay but is it dangerously pointy like Big Ben?

Tell you what.

If ever there is a rock headed straight for Earth, I will post it in News/Activism. And not chat.

There appear to be 3-4 separate incidences based upon the reading Revelation 8.

One in vs 7, one in vs 8-9, and another one in vs 10-11. There is the possibility, IMO, that vs 12 is yet another one.

Each incident is connected with a different angel blowing his trumpet, one following the other.

Revelation 8:6-12

6 Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.

7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood.[b] A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.

12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.

I’d love to pitch in and help save the planet ...

... but I just can’t do anything that makes me look that ridiculous.

No offense to the kid, mind you!

Talk about trying to gin up hysteria. All of them way outside the orbit of the moon.

I hope you get zotted for it.

There are all kind of rocks heading straight for Earth.

Lots of them even hit.

But they are little rocks and the ones the moon does not block tend to burn up before they hit.

If you find one that didn't they are worth a chunk o' change.

“How many satellites will they hit on their way?”

It was explained to us as “space is very vaste, people have gone insane thinking about it”

I think it’s beyond the ability to actually fully grasp.....still you do wonder if these stations and satellites could be hit.

and there followed hail and fire,

You would expect this from a comet and/or meteorite. Frozen ice and fire (reentry heat) would normally be considered incongruous except in this instance.

Again a meteorite comes to mind, with reentry combustion.

a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch

Stars are self luminous so this is a puzzler to me. I'll have to check the commentaries to see what they say. Even a small "star" would consume the earth into oblivion.

That screenshot kinda looks like the venerable PDP-10 Space War of the 1970's (at least, the triangular spaceship looks the same). It also appears to have boundary wrap like the old SW -- some photon torpedos that go off the right side of the screen reappear on the left.

So,... what is that from?

Well, a meteorite burning up on entry could be considered a star by the ancients.

We still call them shooting stars.

Mrs. and I watched it last week. I thought it was brilliant satire. It showed the politicians and media for what they really are arrogant and narcissistic.
It WAS a fun movie, but you have to watch it all the way to the end.

I don't think so. The old Space War looked like this:
