, $5,000 in one-dollar bills was dumped onto a carpet in the middle of the ice as 10 local teachers readied themselves to shovel up as much of it as they could.
When the competition began, the teachers — all wearing hockey helmets — crawled into the pile of cash, frantically stuffing the bills into their shirts as an arena of spectators hollered and cheered until every dollar was snatched up.
In the end, Barry Longden, a teacher at a local high school, snatched the most cash — $616
Alexandria Kuyper, a fifth-grade teacher, managed to grab $592

Well, it could have been worse............ It might have involved a stainless steel pole..................
Given how much “educators” dehumanize children and their parents, it is a cynical mockery to call giving free money to teachers “dehumanizing.”
Good grief.
Some folks just don’t know how to have fun.
Until the internet came along, we didn’t have the wonderful opportunity to hear from these kinds of losers. It’s the ‘democratization of the disaffected’.
The bigger issue is folks are getting too practiced at getting/feigning outrage and broadcasting the worthless opinions of those that should be, most effectively, ignored.
Might as well make them do for themselves what they’ve had their union doing for them for decades.
Teachers ... not so bright. They do the same thing for their unions.
All a bunch of fat cows. Jeez, doesn’t anyone care about their bodies anymore. You body is the Lord’s temple.
It would have been far more entertaining if there wasn’t a carpet.
No one can have fun anymore Frigging Dr. Kill joys! We are fast approaching Equilibrium (2002), good movie.
Kind of hard to tell how fat they are since they are stuffing wads of money into their shirts.
Aren’t they all looking fat because that’s where they’re stuffing all the money?
Good God. It sounds like fun.
When I was a kid, they used to have a greased pig chase where they would slather a pig with lard and people would try to catch it with their bare hands for a money prize.
One can only imagine what they would say about that today.
What was it James Carville famously said about ‘dragging a dollar bill through a trailer park’?
I have done the greased pole thing that had a five dollar bill tied to the top. Now it would be sexist or racist.
I suppose I would have been okay if it were “climb greased hills” or something...:)
Well, that’s stupid. Obviously older and disabled teachers weren’t on the ice so screw their supplies.
Everyone should take a look in their school dumpsters at the end of the year. It is disgusting how many brand new supplies teachers throw out.
One of the teachers said she was going to use the money for treats and decorations. Sioux Falls, we have a problem.

Big city schools and many suburban,YES.
Our son a former Marine Infantry 3x sandbox, teaches in the middle of Illinois cornfields.
He has been teaching students in his classroom all but two days through covid(bus issues).
He did contract covid, after flying to the west coast to run a marathon over spring break; no missed work.
In the smaller districts, the teachers are closer to the community, many connections that do not exist in the cities.
Greater accountability because almost everyone knows about what goes on.
The pay is noticeably less than the city.
His students invited him to a skeet shoot on a local farm!
He says being hired in Chicago is easy and the pay is good, but teaching in Chicago puts the mark of Cain on you.
Other districts do not want you.
Jeez, they are teachers. They deserve abuse. Don’t make excuses for leftist pieces of shit.
Surely this is a variation of what contestants do on the Price is Right or Let’s Make a Deal. Dehumanizing did not come to mind for me.
Rather I saw almost no difference between their actions / appearances and how demonkkkraps behave when it comes to the working class’ taxes.
