Anne Rice, the gothic novelist widely known for her bestselling novel “Interview with the Vampire,” died late Saturday at the age of 80.
Rice died due to complications from a stroke, her son Christopher Rice announced on her Facebook page and his Twitter page.
“In her final hours, I sat beside her hospital bed in awe of her accomplishments and her courage,” Christopher Rice wrote in the statement.
Anne Rice was the author of the 1976 novel “Interview with the Vampire,” which was later adapted into a movie starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in 1994. It was also expected to be portrayed in a TV series on AMC and AMC+ in 2022.

A lot of what she wrote could be considered obscene. But she did come to be a Christian and disavow her earlier works. I think the last Lestat novel she wrote, was completely absent of the homosexuality. But it had... problems, let's just leave it at that LOL

It wasn’t passing judgement so much as clarifying where her publicly expressed position was. Hopefully she is with the Lord, but only God knows what is hidden in the heart. I think there is often a very real difference between what one publicly expresses and what their real relationship with God is. But as humans we can only judge what another expresses publicly and what they do publicly. We are not party to the person’s inner world.
