Her vampire novels had some pretty overt homosexual qualities (the relationship between Lestat and his friend, forget his name, comes to mind). Memnoch the Devil was downright blasphemous (Lestat drinking the blood of Jesus etc.) But I overlooked those and appreciated the historical detail she poured into her work. I could almost smell Paris of the seventeen hundreds.

A lot of what she wrote could be considered obscene. But she did come to be a Christian and disavow her earlier works. I think the last Lestat novel she wrote, was completely absent of the homosexuality. But it had... problems, let's just leave it at that LOL

She had also written some x-rated books under a different pen name that were far more obscene than the vampire novels. They were bdsm porn really. Guess she had to hit rock bottom before she repented.
