1st world problems. Sheesh.
When I was a waiter we would call them “Canadians”, “Oh damn, I got a bunch of Canadians on Table 14, so much for that tip.”
Absolutely no need to read this article. The headline would have been enough.
Basic, honest human behavior is almost always an accurate reflection of their past experience.
There are certain neighborhoods you don’t want to live in, because you can be pretty sure that the crime is high.
There are certain customers you don’t want to wait on, because you can be pretty sure that the customers will be difficult and the tip will be nonexistent.
Not a sure thing. But it is a pretty safe bet.
Yet another cultural Marxist racist asswipe who capitalizes “Black” but not “white.” I first noticed that crap in a textbook when I was in college at ECU in Ada, OK (somewhere between 1995 and 1998). It’s gotten worse since last year’s BLM riots. What’s the big deal about one measly letter being capitalized (or not)? It’s yet another attempt to instill black supremacy! I didn’t capitalize the “b.” Does that make me a “racist?”
A female co-worker told me, a number of years ago, who had been a waitress previously said the worst tippers were black women.
I use to drive a taxi in New York city, when it came to blacks never mind tips, just trying to get them to pay the full fare was hard enough. Cheapest people on this planet, it’s the “white man owes me because of slavery” mentality.
Do people get paid to push this "journalism"? It's all identity politics 24 hrs/ 7 days a week with liberals.
Ask any waitress and they will tell you that black tables are bad tippers. Not sure where this survey was done. I am in liberal MA. I’ve had this conversation with three generations of waitresses. It hasn’t changed since the 70’s.
black servers don’t want black tables either, so there’s that.
They hate to tip? /s
Well, we must investigate and change this! Wait!
Loud, rude, chip on shoulder that makes it impossible to be respectful lest it seem subservient, no-tipping, and sometimes violent.
Not all or even most, but often enough that it causes the effect. Also, it’s fairly rare that a server is black, so it’s always a cross-race effect.
I was a delivery driver for an Italian restaurant for 7 years. My experience was that black women would seldom tip the old white delivery driver. Black men would tip if the woman they were with was white, but not if she were black.
Brhabe like a pack of baboons without any considerations to anyone else, loud, rude and obnoxious behavior. It doesn’t matter where on the globe you go, what language is spoken; the behaviors are a constant.
And the blame for their circumstances is never reflected upon, as the result of poor choices, made over and over; but placed upon someone else
I talked to a Latina waitress once, after observing a white couple give her a rough time. They complained their food was not worth the price, and the manager discounted their meal. while talking to her, I asked if it was true waiters could pick out people who would tip well. She said she could and when I asked what she looked for she said, “They are usually white.”
Worthless Article. Period.
According to people I know who have worked as waitress or bar tender, they not only tip poorly, if at all, but also make unreasonable demands on staff. Seem to go to great effort to make the waiter or waitress job as difficult as possible.
I don’t think waiters give poor service to black customers…if anything, they’re so terrified of being called racist or having the customers yell at them that the black customers probably get better service than the white customers.
One of the problems is that black customers tend to be unrealistically demanding (there actually ARE other customers in the restaurant, not only those at their table) and also interpret anything as a slight. I was in a restaurant today where the plate runner…who probably won’t last long…somehow managed to go to the opposite side of the table and, while trying to reach over and set my plate down, he tipped it so that the French fries slid off! I just thought it was one of those things, especially since the guy (white, like me) looked a little dim.
Meanwhile a black table nearby was grilling the waiter on why their water hadn’t come out immediately when they got the menus (which were dropped off by the hostess anyway). My water wasn’t out immediately either, but I didn’t regard it as a personal affront, or even having my French fries poured off the plate onto the table in front of me. A lot of black people are too suspicious and hostile, and they take everything personally and assume it’s because they’re black. But that’s what they’ve been taught to do, and CRT sure isn’t helping.
Why did the racists limit their survey to mostly just ‘white’ waiters and servers ?!?
A simpler test would have been to use actual customers with actual tips !
