This is a well known fact. I've heard this fact from different sources, and in different locales. Colored women do not tip.

In re that, same here in the taxi. And yet. I’ll never forget taking a quiet elderly black lady to her home in the projects. I assumed no tip and figured she’d use a subsidized card. No problem. She was probably poor and nobody owes me a tip. Did the best ride I could.

Fare was $8.80. She thanked me and handed me a $20, said keep the change. I figured she thought she gave me a $10. Wait ma’am I said, this is a $10 not a $20. I know, she said, I can’t take it with me.

So over a hundred percent tip from a lady in a generally no tip category. You never know.

I dropped off a white guy and his son from the airport at the kid you not Ritz Carlton. They talked about his lacrosse team the whole way there. No tip. And they left garbage in the back seat. So. Stereotypes have exceptions.

Worked as a bar tender years ago. Women in general tipped significantly less than men.

True! I was a waitress long ago. Black women tipped poorly and complained more than any other demographic.

The waitstaff will be lucky if they just low-ball tip. Sometimes, while dining in a large group, they will wait until everyone else gets up to leave, and then take a few big bills out of the cash tip pile on the table. I've owned two restaurants in my life, and seen this more than once.
